Help I can't get my new fitbit zip to work

I just bought a new fittbit zip and I put the battery in like it tells you to and when I tap it nothing shows up. Has anyone ever had this problem and what did you do to get it to work. Even my husband kept taking the battery out and putting it in and nothing.

Either try a fresh new battery, and/or take it back to where you bought it. The display should come up when you tap it.
