So it has been exactly 11 days and counting of no fried food, going out to eat, or getting fast food. That probably doesnt seem like a huge accomplishment to normal people lol but for me it is because I eat out allllll the time.
So ya 11 days. Tomorrow is Friday and I am going out to dinner with the bff and her boyfriend to a small hole in the wall wing place. they are amazinggg. BUT there are no healthy alternatives at all...like its wings or nothing. So I was planning on eating before and just going to see them. But now I dont know what to do. Like I dont know if I should go and allow myself to get some fries and wings so I dont go crazy or if I should stick to my plan of just eating before. I really dont want to ruin my streak of eating good, but then again..its going to be very hard to sit there and watch them eat lol.

You can always allow yourself a "cheat meal"; just don't go crazy (appetizers, huge entree, dessert, 3 margaritas, etc.)
I like to cheat every once in awhile. It's like a little reward!0 -
Could you suggest you go somewhere else? They should already know how much this new way of eating means to you and will understand that you'd wanna give it a miss this time There's plenty of other places to go! It isn't really fair for you to sit there.. or fair you have to break your diet when you're doing so so well!! They are your friends.. they're there to support you

I'm a big advocate of cheat meals. I think you need to give in to your cravings every once in a while or you will go crazy. as long as you don't let it snowball, and you get right back on track you will be fine. Life is short, you have to enjoy at least some of it, and wings are my biggest weakness so I would definitely be having some0

i say split the difference!
have a small healthy meal before you go (like 1/2 of a tuna fish sandwhich) so that way you can still have a few wings and feel full quickly without feeling either deprived for not eating anything with them or guilty for having too much. win win! plus. it's very important to reward yourself every now and again to avoid bingeing on things you've been craving.0 -

lol you dont understand the thing about wendells...they are known just for their wings so going somewhere else is completley out of the question lol. I dont mind going and not eating. Its just going to be veryyy hard.0 -
you cannot always avoid your favorite foods. A cheat meal is ok as long as you do it in moderation. If you think you cant have just one small portion its best not to put your self in that situation. you can also refer to calorie king they have some food listed on their site not list on this one that can help you make better choices.0

The other thing I do is when I go out for wings I try to order a big salad as a starter and then have wings after. I used to order 20 or 30 wings, but now I have a salad and 6 wings and feel pretty satisfied.0

you mentioned wendell's, is that wendell's pub? i love that place and understand about the wings, i have to get the honey garlic when i go, what i do is work out extra the next day and eat especially healthy the next day, but i don't deny myself...never never never, i have found that the hard way that denying myself only makes me fail, treat yourself in moderation and enjoy :-)0

Ok girl you've been doing very very well. So my reccomendation would be this~ Don't deprive yourself of a couple of wings because when you go and are sitting there watching them eat your gonna end up ordering a whole big plate of em. So, instead, eat a hard boiled egg an apple and drink a big glass of water before you leave your place. It will make you feel full, then you order a small plate of them...maybe re-search before hand which one's are "best" to eat and order those. It's ok to indulge a little especially with as well as you've been doing a small reward isn't bad and depriving yourself will only lead you to binge, I've done it...you can have anything in moderation, it's just controlling the moderation part that's hard. Hopefully after eating a little bit before you go will help you to not eat the whole plate and then you can take a doggy bag home...but not all the way to your home, if you see a homeless person, stop and give it to them...I have kids to eat my leftovers, lol, or you can give them to a family member room-mate or boyfriend, no use in wasting perfectly good food!! I'm sure you'll do great and who knows you may be turned off by it once you eat it...:bigsmile:0

If your lifestyle includes wings, you should devise a way to integrate it into your diet even during weight loss. Portion control is key, and if you need you can eat at maintenance for ONE day.
Otherwise, the risk is great that you (re)turn to eating excessive amounts once you think you're done with dieting.0 -
This is a tough one, and sadly one that those of us who have committed to changing our lives continually face.
I took a peek at the Wendell's menu, looks like you are really stuck. There is not one thing on the menu that even resembles healthy. Though I will admit, it all looked insanely delicious...that being said, you are sort of stuck.
I would probably cut back on some calories earlier in the day to accommodate a few wings. I would stay away from alcohol, or if I was going to drink I'd have one light beer and a water. Then I would add an extra workout into the week or if I could, on the day in question.
I really admire the fact that you have been able to avoid fast food and eating out for 11 days. I know that as much as I try sometimes you have to go out. I think it's all about moderation and healthy choices.
You have done so well so far! Don't let one day slip you up!0 -
I'm starting to think that if im stressing over it this much...then maybe its just not worth it. I want skinny more than wings :happy:0
