C25K

I was reading through the forums this morning when I came across one of the comments which introduced me to this app called C25K which should take you from being sedentary to running 5K (Android and iOS) I'm not really looking to run any marathons but I'm really interested in anything that will get me moving.
So I'm posting this to see whether anyone wants to start doing it with me? I've already motivated my boyfriend to start it with me and he's in. Are you ?
I think we should keep this post as a running commentary on our progress with the app so we can all motivate each other - how difficult/easy it was etc etc.

How do you post your progress bar (weight loss ticker thing) in your posts? I don't know how to do that. Just curious. And good lucky with the zero to 5k, it's really not that hard at all. Start by walking for 30 min. Then increase each day by 5 min. After a week, you can add 1-2 min. of running (must be an amount of time you can repeat for the whole work out), then do a 1 min. walk then repeat the 1-2 min. of running. But you should keep it the same, ie- 1 min. run, 1 min. walk, 1 min. run, 1 min. walk OR 2 min. run, 1 min. walk, 2 min. run, 1 min. walk, etc. Eventually you work your way up that the amount of time for each of your mini run times is more and the break time for walking stays the same, ie - 5 min run, 1 min walk, 5 min run, 1 min walk..... or 10 min run, 1 min walk, 10 min run, 1 min walk.... and the goal is for the total run/walk time to be an hour. I used to do triathlons and this is how we went from zero to hero and could run 6 miles (5k I believe is 3.2miles) and I for one started out a couch potato before I did my first full Olympic distance triathlon (1 mile swim, 25 miles bike, 6 miles run). You can do it!!!! Reach out any time and most importantly have fun and always, always, always remember to stretch before AND after running or you could injure yourself.0

C25K is a great program and it works. I was never a runner and now run 5K+ three times a week.
This group is highly active and has a ton of support & good advice:

How fast are you running? Most people start too fast and have trouble keeping up with the program.
While running, can you have a conversation (ie: speak some sentences)? If not, you're going too fast. Slow down......then slow down some more.
Definitely repeat days if you need to but keep your pace in mind as well. Slowing down will solve 99% of the problems encountered in C25K.0 -
Thank you for your input! I'll be adding some of you and going into that group suggested as well. X
To the ones who have started: let's do it!0 -

I just started today. It's not too bad. Not sore yet. Maybe I'll be singing a different tune tomorrow.0
