I am 215 trying to lose 60 lbs. I have worked out every day and I have sincerely tried to keep under my limit and avoid things like ice cream, cake, cookies that will trip me up. I lost five lbs, but since then, nothing. Granted I know Rome wasn't built in a day and I didn't get this size overnight, but shouldn't I be seeing some loss soon? This is very discouraging.

The link below is a very thorough explanation. It's not uncommon to see a large drop early on and then a stall. When you start at a deficit, you burn through your glycogen and drop a lot of water weight. Fat loss is slower and takes longer. When you start exercising, you retain more glycogen and some water weight comes back, which can offset losses and keep the scale from moving. Be patient, grasshopper. How long have you not been losing? Have you been weighing all of your food or guessing?

i lost tons of weight the first two weeks, then slowed to 1 pound per week, which is fine by me. i weight or measure every bite i put in my mouth, stick to the amount of calories that works for me, work out 6 days per week and weigh myself "officially" once a week.

giving up cookies, cake, ice cream, etc, works for some people, but things like burgers, mac and cheese, a sandwich or just about any normal food can have a lot of calories, also. and budgeting your calories can leave room for a couple cookies or some lower fat ice cream daily.

living healthy can take some reading, and i feel that is time very well spent.

I don't know what your exercise plan is like. You might have to switch it up if you're not already. That can help with weight loss. Also make sure you're measuring your food accurately.
