I have done a milion and one diets that are out there. i have done the U weight loss... Herbal Magic... Weight Watchers and have gained ALL my weight back. I am now back to my heaviest weight. Feeling depressed and stressed out. I need to build back my convidence, I find myself hiding so i don't have to see peoples faces that haven't seen me in a while. It's depressing. But now starting this weight loss journey again and I find myself not knowing what to eat. So I end up eating pizzas, pasta... because it's there. And that is what the kids are eating. Lets not mention the chips, pop.... Tried on pants last night and that was the straw that broke the camels back. I need to get back on the wagon and learn a new lifestyle not a diet. Diets don't work. Needs to be a lifestyle choice.... hopefully I can find my way!:smooched:

Welcome to MFP and you have made the right choice! It is a life change not a weightloss plan that is what I love about it. It will take a little bit of time to get back on track, but you will get there I promisse just dont give up!!!

You are on the right track with thinking of a lifestyle change and not a diet!

One of the keys for me is not having the junk around. As I spend more time not eating it... I don't want it as much. So... I don't keep chips and cookies in the house (the last month being a HUGE exception with Christmas and 2 birthdays! Lots of cake in our freezer right now!). I buy Ronzoni Smart Taste pasta (or I'd buy whole wheat if anyone else here would eat it). My thinking is... my husband is old enough that he can go get junk food somewhere else if he wants to. And my little boy is depending on ME to teach him healthy food habits. If we got out, he gets basically what he wants to eat. But he is learning to make good choices at home and, for now, that is translating to mostly good choices when he gets to make the decision too. (That being said, he is only 5 and not in school yet so I anticipate that part getting harder as he gets older). You are in control of what food comes into your house!

It helps me to think in terms of one little change at a time. At first, just track what you are eating. Then start to figure out where you can make changes to stay in your calorie goals. Then add in some exercise... one step at a time.

Welcome and I hope MFP helps you as much as it has helped me! :)

thanks guys!! I have older children in the house (14-11-9) and it's hard to keep the junk out! My oldest refuses to eat fruits or most veggies. He is also VERY active. Loves sports. Also my partner has 3 kids and his daughter is a veggieterian. So it makes it hard to cook for the gang when we are all together! But it's a lifestyle choice and there will be bumps in the road and I just have to learn to get back up and learn from mistakes. But main thing is that i want to learn how to live healthy and be around for my kids and have the energy to keep up with them! I am loving this sit and all the support! We can do it together!
