If you're set on doing a Keto diet, that's completely fine, but understand that if you plan to work out, it's going to be hard to work out with any sort of high intensity without carb intake. You can opt for a balanced diet that has you eating plenty of protein and fat, but also allows for a moderate amount of carbs. The protein and fat will be sure to keep you full and allow for carb intake as well. That's the best route to take in my opinion. Anytime you cut something big out of your diet that spells trouble. Just something to think about...

The General section is notorious for having tons of people downright antagonistic against the idea of LCHF.

I suggest you seek out groups if you must have support on this board, and even better head on over to forums dedicated solely to supporting that way of eating.

I also follow Keto and have no problem working out. It's a wonderful lifestyle change. If you need any kind of proof.. check out a fellow Keto gal who has been in ketosis for 4 years and looks amazing! I thought she was 25... She's 47!!! Her site is www.stephanieperson.com She has a multitude of youtube videos explaining keto and all aspect. Keep in mind she's a purist! haha SHe gets her carbs ONLY from veggies. Shes very strict with only 20 carbs (not net carbs) a day too. I follow this as it works for me. NOt the purist part though.. I get carbs from things outside of just veggies but not crap.

    I hope this helps,
Feel free to add me if you'd like a cheering section in your getting healthy efforts ;)

I just started LCHF four days ago after a few months off any plan and after vacation. But I made sure to wait until day four for my first weigh in today as I knew I over did vacation.

I think it's a great way for me to kick start my diet, and may just continue this plan. I don't go extremely low because I want to weight lift more and add muscle. But I have witnessed my boyfriend have serious results, and today is day four for me and I feel great.

I think this weekend will be a challenge though with all of the July 4th parties. I plan to bring veggie trays with the dip to the events and eat bunless hamburgers. I also do allow myself 1-2 glasses of red wine, but read it is really important to stay away from beer.

My carb count plan is around 40 grams a day, and a lot of that is from vegtables. I also plan to have mostly fish for dinner, and I count calories. Made Catfish last night with cajun seasoning and fried in a bit of butter, with a salad on the side and it was delish!

Even though I'm eating a lot of food, my calories are low because veggies are very low in calories. But even though my calorie count is low, I am more satisfied because of the increase in protein and healthy fats.

And after I have made some progress I will add a cheat meal per week.
