Heavy Sweater and Headphone Hell

Before I finally do it and just ride the end of the treadmill and see the death of my gym dignity, in the name of Richard Simmons could someone please help me with headphones?!

I am an extremely heavy sweater and I have now been through two pair of headphones, both of which are allegedly for exercise and sweating folks. Before anyone suggests it, yes I wear a headband, and yes, I use a towel to wipe the sweat from my head. What happens with the pair that I have from Sony is that sweat gets into the actual earbud and either one or both of the speakers will go out mid- run. At this point, I don't care about the cost of all I want is a pair of headphones that will not screw up my jams as I hit my peak point after 25 minutes.

A very big (but dry at this point) thank you-

Just improvising here...could you wrap the buds (are they buds?) with something (thin) before you put them in your ears? If actual headphones I can only think of some kind of diy thing, gluing foam to them or something. Well, maybe not such an attractive idea.
I googled "swimming headphones" and came up with a few. Maybe that's an idea.
Seems really annoying; I hope you find a solution.

Heh heh heh. The first thing I think of is a Bedazzler anytime anyone ever uses the acronym DIY and now I have perhaps one of the very best images of myself which will no doubt garner praise and jealousy. You realize of course that I'm completely serious here, yes? I mean I already hate the pair of headphones I have, I might as well talk on a few rhinestones and feathers and completely go all Cher with this.

As for swimming headphones, you've taught me something. I had no idea that such a thing existed. I just googled them and you have a perfect idea and I am going to try that. I started doing a little bit more research and found a company called Soul. They have a set at $69 for "gifted sweaters and people who enjoy testing mother nature's patience by running in thunderstorms," or so Tech Blog says.

I did that...for a while. But then I discovered that I wasn't really as bright as I thought I was. I would remember the headphones but then managed to forget either the house keys or my wallet or socks for the gym or realize that I actually left the house to go running and I was wearing my boxers (and that's not a joke; totally happened), so I sort of gave up the extra pair of headphones idea. However thank you for the suggestion, it is a very pragmatic one. :)

I use JayBird Bluebuds X while on the elliptical, and I run a minimum 30-40 minutes and sweat a good bit too. They are great for staying in the ears too! Little more expensive, so definitely get the warranty!
