Hello everyone,
I am 25 years old and gave birth to my first child on 27th of march this year. During the pregnancy I gained a lot of weight and now I want to find my way back to the "normal" me I was before the pregnancy. I liked working out and I am a member in a gym and now that I can I want to make use of that membership.
I want to loose around 23kg (not sure how much exactly that is in Ib I think a bit more than double? I think around 50-60Ib maybe? I will find a converter )
Anything else? Hmmm I am a graduate student working in computational biology/biophysics.
Would be great to make some friends with similar goals than me to lend mutual support.

Hello and welcome to MFP! I'm not a mom, so I don't have similar goals, but you're always free to add me if you like.
Are you still breastfeeding? Have you talked to your doctor about the best way to lose weight at this point? I understand that you want to get back in shape, but perhaps you should talk to a professional first about what foods are best for you and the number of calories you should be eating because it's likely that your body is still adjusting to everything that happened in the past few months.
Whatever you do, be safe!0 -
Thanks for your reply!
You are right I need to be careful since I am still breastfeeding. The amount of calories (and nutrients) the body needs is increased by breastfeeding a baby. But I already take vitamins and other supplements. I should not loose weight to fast since according to a midwife I talked to some toxins that are stored in the fatty tissue will be set free into the breast milk which obviously wouldn't be good for my baby. so the weight loss should be gradual and not too fast. But loosing weight really fast is almost never the way to go I think. So that isn't really a restraint.
I will go slow and be careful and the next chance I get I will talk to a physician.0
