Group classes - how often? RIPPED, Body Pump

I'm new to taking classes at my local gym. So far, I wish I would have stepped out of my comfort zone of working out at home, because I'm loving the group classes! I do have a question though, I've always been told not to work the same muscle groups 2 days in a row. But, with the class schedule, I'm finding sometimes there's classes on two consecutive days I want to take, that might conflict with this. I'm wondering if I should be skipping a day, or if I can take the classes on two consecutive days? I didn't know if the don't do 2 days in a row related more to heavy lifting, or not?
The types of classes I'm talking about are R.I.P.P.E.D., and Body Pump mainly. One is offered on Sundays, the other on Mondays, so I'm not sure if I should do both, or just choose one or the other each week? Both incorporate weights, and both are kind of focused on total body. Although R.I.P.P.E.D. incorporates a lot of cardio as well.
I'm just not sure what to do here! I'd love to take both classes, but don't want to set myself up for injury either. Thanks!

When I joined my gym I started out with a personal trainer doing strength training, but I found that I hated working out alone as soon as the program was over. I had been going to a Zumba class on Saturdays there, and loving it, so I started experimenting with other types of classes.
Bottom line is a year later, I am doing classes five days a week, sometimes more than one a day, and having a great time! Here's my schedule:
Monday: Shred - 45min, Abs - 30min, Zumba - 45min
Tuesday: Yoga (noon) - 60 minutes, Cardio Kickboxing (eve) - 45min
Wednesday: Body Pump - 60 minutes
Thursday: off
Friday: Body Pump - 60 minutes
Saturday: Yoga - 60 minutes, Zumba - 60 minutes.
I'm 67, maintained for 6 months, now rethinking the extra five pounds I thought I should lose and concentrate on maintaining as is at just under 130lb.0 -
I don't know what RIPPED is but every time I do Body Pump (after a year break or more) I'm super sore for 3 days after, if that helps. So don't plan on doing them back to back your first week or two, for sure. Maybe ask someone at your gym what they think, and do the classes on alternate weeks first to see what you think of the idea, with more info to run on.0

I wondered that too - I've done RIPPED before, but today will be my first day doing Body Pump, so I'm not sure what to expect as far as soreness. I do lift some weights on my own, so I'm not new to weights, but I'm thinking I might walk away pretty sore. Good idea to ask someone at the gym!0 -
I do Body Pump twice a week on Wed. and Fri. My other rigorous strength training class is Monday, so there's at least a day between everything.0

Body Pump leaves me so sore because it reps you to death. Don't hesitate to put your barbell down partway through a set and finish the track without it, or otherwise modify. Good luck!0
