Dresscode for a 30 minute assessment?

My interview letter says I have a "work based assessment". It's not an interview (that's the next day). So, what should I wear:
1) Formal shirt and trousers
2) Formal shirt, tie and trousers
3) Full suit (Formal shirt, tie, blazer and trousers)

If it makes a difference, it's for the local government so it's a big job and I'm very nervous.

I only have one suit. It's grey/silver and I'd rather not wear the same one two days in a row. I don't want them to know that I only have one suit.

    2. You still need to look nice but a suit probably isn't necessary for just an assessment (assuming this is computer based). But they will be taking a look at you.. so make sure to look sharp.

Oh, just saw you only have one suit. Do you own any sportcoats? Can you borrow a suit?

Otherwise, slacks with shirt and tie and nice shoes

shirt, tie, trousers. save the suit for the interview.

    GL!
  • If you only have one suit.. Go for the shirt, tie and trousers, stop by JC Penny or somewhere and get a cheap vest. If your young and just entering the job force, an employer will be more impressed by your willingness to try and present yourself professionally than your financial ability to do so.

Do not wear a vest. Do not wear a vest. Do NOT wear a vest.

Wear the suit twice if you have to, especially if you aren't going to be meeting with the same people twice. However, if you're going to be running into the same people, then shirt, tie, black dress pants and save the suit for the interview.

I'd go with #2 (formal shirt, tie and trousers). Leave the blazer for the interview.

I think a vest is a bit much.

    Don't wear a tuxedo.

What would you be wearing daily to the job? Go one step over what the normal work attire would be. If it's a suit type of job, wear a suit.
