For those who don't know, this is the deal with 30DS. Its a workout dvd made by Jillian Michaels (of The Biggest Loser fame). It has 3 levels. You do level 1 for ten days, then level 2 for ten days, then level 3 for ten days. Some people try to do it for 30 days in a row, but Jillian doesn't recommend that. She recommends taking rest days in there as well. Personally, I've been doing it 4 days a week with 3 days a week running and 1 rest day (so one day is a running day and a shred day for those of you doing the math). I'm doing each level for 3 weeks, so 12 days total at each level. I'm on the last week of level 2 now.

    What you need:
Hand weights (I recommend 5 lbs or less for beginners)
    Mat (optional)

The videos are on Youtube (see the links below). If you like this system, I recommend purchasing the dvd. It's cheap (~$10) and you never know when something will be taken down on Youtube.

    Level 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Pc-NizMgg8
    Level 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZEz0VGxsiqc
    Level 3: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Pc-NizMgg8

Good luck! Its a challenging workout, but stick with it and you'll get results. Each level does get easier the more you do it. Around day 9 for me is when I don't feel like I'm going to die anymore and I really look forward to doing it. I've been amazed by what I can do if I put my mind to it!

Thanks for this useful post - I've just started the 30DS but didn't realise you had to change levels every 10 days and can take rest days. Should have done my research instead of plunging in because it was raining cats and dogs on my usual Zumba day...

I would love to join! I really enjoy the workout itself and its intensity, but I need to figure out how to get past the pain in my knees while doing it. I have never gotten past level 2 because of it.

I would love to join. Need to really get back on track and I think this just may be the kick start I need. To be honest though I tried the shred once before and didn't make it past day 4, so if anyone has some good advice on making it through, friend me, I'll appreciate every bit of advice you can give me!!!!

Good luck to all! I am thinking about trying ripped in thirty next!
