So i've been a UFC fan for a while now and just went to the first UFC event in Auckland last weekend! It was amazing!
These guys (and girls) are really inspiring. The way they push their bodies to the absolute limit, train and fight at the highest level, just makes me want to do more!
So any fellow UFC followers?

P.S. I'm not looking for any haters, if you aren't a fan just move on please. Just showing respect for some of our amazing athletes!

I am.. I also have been doing martial arts and Jiu Jitsu for quite a while. Originally from Sydney but live in the states now so have access to all the awesome MMA companies, UFC, Bellator etc

Having a big group of Jits guys over for this weekend Weidman vs Machida and Rousey title fights

That's awesome! Really looking forward to UFC175 this weekend. It's a pretty stacked card!
How long ago did you move? James Te Hunas from Penrith. Unfortunate outcome for him last week.

Also anyone feel free to add me. Need all the motivation I can get and nice to have people to talk to with the same interests

I didn't get to see the Auckland UFC (on Fight Pass for us) - it wasn't televised I don't believe but we have our own free FOX UFC last week (Cub Swanson vs Stephens).

Over here though we are fans of Robert Whittaker from an older TUF and know of Vik Grujic, Jake Matthews etc due to the Canada vs Aus TUF recently.

I moved in 2008 permanently but used to travel back and forth quite a bit beforehand for work. Been doing Jits for years and various martial arts for over 15 years, kung fu the longest at 11 1/2 years.

Why don't you try some Brazillian Jiu Jitsu in Auckland?

Yeah I didn't think it was televised over there, bummer. I saw the Swanson vs Stephens fight night as well. That one was free to air over here.
Robert Whittaker and Jake Matthews both did really well last weekend. I'm sure you know already!

Try it myself? I don't think i'm that tough  And I have/had a slipped disc in my lower back from lifting a treadmill (oh the irony) a couple of years ago. So I have to be careful what I do :grumble:

Love UFC! Been to some local semipro/amateur MMA events, but it would be neat to check out the big show sometime. Try to catch it on PPV now and then at the bar.

I am a fan as well. No live events anywhere around here, so have to catch them on TV when they are. Also no bars that show the events, I live in a very small community. But I keep up when I can.
Used to teach martial arts in K.C., of course nothing even remotely like this. Most of my students where high school kids. So I like to watch for techniques we taught, or the current variations of them.

I like Wideman over Machida. Was a Silva fan, but Wideman was just a beat!

Yeah it was awesome going to a big event! It was only a fight night not a numbered UFC but hey, it was New Zealands first UFC event! Can only go up from there right!

I also like Weidman over Machida. I think Silva was cocky (maybe rightfully so) and deserved to be knocked out! And even though he broke his leg in the second fight, Weidman was winning before that happened!

UFC = AWESOME :drinker: Never been to a live show before but I wish I was able to. Live in Alaska never been out of the state before. I would love to go watch a live show sometime in the future.

Nice! I would definitely try to get to a live show if you can. I would LOVE to go to a big show like 175 this weekend. But event tickets + flights from NZ would be a little hard to justify..

Yeah you do! I only started following it solidly maybe a year ago. I have seen a lot of old fights as well though. Hitting the archives!
