How long does it take to lose 20 pounds?

Im a 19 year old female who is currently 143 (5"5) and am trying to lose 20 pounds. With 1100/1200 cal a day and exercise every other day?

    it depends on who you are, what you do, what you eat, what your health and genetics are like... nobody can really tell you how long it would take you.

    however, it is unhealthy to lose weight too rapidly, and healthy loss is 1-2 pounds a week. the first few weeks might be more but not much more.

    if you lose too fast it is really stressful on your body including your heart and metabolism and often backfires.

    just something you may want to think about. just do what you plan and let it take the time it needs to take.

    At your current height and weight you are within the healthy range. Your current calorie goal is far too low. Set your weekly goal to 0.5lb and eat your exercise calories back. With so little to lose, and being so close to healthy weight already you do not want a large deficit.

    Because of your current height and weight, losing 20lbs should take about 6 months. You do not want to lose too quickly as it will increase the muscle loss you experience.
