Very little Weight Loss...

I started doing MFP in March and by the end of April I had lost 9 lbs! But then I went on several trips, my work schedule changed, etc., etc., and it took me awhile to start tracking again. I started tracking again (with just a couple of treats every now and then that weren't in my calorie range) pretty religiously on June 12. I got down to 118.8 a few days ago, and as of this morning I am back up to 120 and I have been VERY good the past few days.
My net calories are 1250/day and I workout regularly and always eat back the calories I burn after doing a lot of research on TDEE, etc., and I don't think I should be eating less than that. Any suggestions? Should I be eating more than 1250 net? I'm really at a loss here as I should have lost more by now.
Thank you!!

That's only about a 1.2lb gain so I wouldn't obsess over it. Weight fluctuates like that from time to time. Just keep logging and try to stay in your calorie goal. I have what I want but I try to work it into my calorie count.
Check out this blog from another MFPer that really puts the whole thing in perspective.

Recent sodium consumption, a heavy (or unfamiliar) work out, close to TOM can all adjust your body's water retention.
Other factors to consider are...did you weigh at the same time, wearing similar clothing? not to be gorss, but a b.m. that hasn't worked itself out yet...or even a full bladder....or you could have been a touch deydrated when you weighed at 118. I wouldnt worry about 1.2 lb gain as there are just too many factors that come in to play...look at it this way, you would have had to have eaten more then 3500 cals to gain that pound back....and you probably did not. Keep your head up! You'll get there!!0 -
I get some totally random upticks of up to 2-3 pounds in a day. it makes me wonder if the scale is not working right. But so long as the 2 week trend is down I ignore it.0

There are days that I can go up four pounds in a single day. I weighed after coffee one day and had gained a pound, despite having a bowel movement.
1.5 pounds is often my day to day change but over time the scale goes lower.0 -
Hello. I feel your pain. Although I haven't had any weight gain, now that I am down to the final stretch (10lbs) of being within my goal the weight has started coming of soooo s l o w. I used to lose at least two lbs a week, but now it's usually around 1.3 lbs. I exercise more now than I did in the beginning, and I always eat at a calorie deficit (not intentionally). I am not complaining, just wondering why. Does anyone have any suggestions that might help speed things back up for me.0

It's not so much that I'm worried about the 1.2 gain; I know that my weight fluctuates up and down. its that overall I'm only down 1 lb for 3 weeks of hard work!0

How tall are you? At 118-120 lbs I'm guessing you must be fairly close to a healthy/goal weight unless you are incredibly short.
The closer you are to goal it is often more difficult to lose those last few pounds. Many people suggest that a goal of 1/2 lb a week is a good goal for those last few pounds - which wouldn't be all that far off of your results.0 -
My end goal is 110. I know that is on the low-end of healthy BMI, but I've been there before and I was quite healthy, and I've had approval from my Dr. that it is on ok weight for me. So I have somewhere between 9 and 10 lbs to go.0

If 110 is on the low end of healthy, then 118-120 is probably within or just barely outside healthy, so yeah it's going to be a lot harder (since small inaccuracies or fluctuations have a bigger impact) and slower losing those last couple pounds. If you can keep the trend line moving closer to goal - even if just a fraction of a pound a week - you're probably going to be successful in the end.0 -
My weight fluctuates a ton so I know how frustrating it is. I find that the body sometimes just plateaus for a while. For 1 month i lost and gained the same 3 lbs over and over again. Perhaps you can make a slight change in your diet or exercise... That might help... And by diet change I don't mean lowing it.. just perhaps change what you are eating. Just a thought.0
