Herniated disc, OUCH.

Ever had one?

What did you do to make it better? Able to work out hard again at some point?

Currently, the only thing I can do to work out is swim. My left foot and calf are numb, I have weakness in my left leg, so my regular zumba and turbo kick are a no no. My left foot kind of drags, so I trip over stuff.

Maybe I can try the elliptical?

I'm treating it with PT, chiropractic treatments, and rest right now, and going to a neurosurgeon for a consult later in July.

The PT is an absolute must. I herniated a disc in 2007 and also could not lift my leg due to the numbness and tingling. Time, PT, traction, ice, heat, and some rest got me through. And despite the leg issues, walking daily helped. Even if I was slow, hunched, and Igoring it the whole time. I am able to do my very physical job again and even though I still have pain, it's nothing like it used to be. I can say one thing for certain, weight loss helps tremendously. Like as much as PT if not more. I know that if I don't permanently get to a decent weight (anything beginning with a 1 and my back feels ace) it will only come...back...to haunt me.
