...that the formula for the optimal caloric burn is to keep your heart rate between 120-140bpm long enough to burn 400 calories? I know any (well not any, but you know what I mean) exercise will increase your burn for hours (as well as increasing muscle mass), but heard from a fairly fitnessy boy (holy flickfest, nomnomnom) that this will make your body torch more calories the longest. His body could definitely be a spokesperson, namsayin?

    The most efficient heart rate for burning the most calories will always be the highest one you can sustain for the time period you have.
    So, it will likely be different for 12 hours, 4 hours, an hour or 15 minutes.
    The highest heart rate will pretty much always be the highest calorie burn - and daily fat burn.
    Of course, most people won't sustain a 90% max hrm for extended periods.
