almost to my original goal

after some health issues, stress and disorganized lifestyle contributed to my weight going up to 242, i felt that 165 pounds and more muscled would be a good goal. i wasn't making any major changes, but i got attached to 165. when i weighed 191 in later 2012, i still felt like 165 and fit would be a good thing to shoot for.
today i weighed in at 168, just 3 pounds above that goal i held since july of 2006, and my calves and thighs and butt are visibly more muscled and less fat, and i'm losing inches elsewhere. and as i went for today's walk, i started thinking about that original goal. my currently goal is 145 - high for my height, but i'm also shooting for muscle. i figure i can always reassess at 145. but today, 8 years after i first decided to shoot for that 165 and with only 3 pounds to go, it raised some feelings in me - excitement, a little pride, a feeling of strength and even a little sadness - to see how close i actually was to my original goal.
and to realize that my changes in lifestyle, and understanding both how i got as heavy and unfit as i did and the changes i've made and knowledge i've gained to come this far, were something i could use for life.
wow!
