Hi all,

I'm fast approaching fifty and have over 100 pounds to go - I've come to terms with the fact this will not be possible before mid-September (!) so have found another challenge to complete by then. I found the NHS C25K programme which covers nine weeks - ending exactly on my milestone birthday. http://www.nhs.uk/Livewell/c25k/Pages/couch-to-5k.aspx

Looking for friends to come along for the ride - there will be bumps, there may be tears, but if we can laugh together we can reach the goal.

  • C25K is a great program, I did it a few years ago and it turned me from a 'running is impossible' person to 'WOW I can do this!!' in the 9 weeks. The feeling when you run your first non-stop 5k is just brilliant.

Just wanted to say it'll be awesome, good luck, and you can do it!!

    Thank you!

I had my first go yesterday and I can barely walk up stairs today, but I did it! I'm so looking forward to the 5K moment you talk about. What a way to turn fifty.
