Ashamed to say I've gained weight since joining miltary

I joined the Navy last year in September, and I lost a bit of weight during basic training. January this year I began training as a medic with the Army and I have really let myself go. We do PT four times a week, but in the past two months I haven't done much exercise as I have been sick, been on leave, injured or found another excuse to not work out. I gained approximately 8kg in 7 months.
I plan on cutting out the ridiculous amount of junk food I eat, doing PT every time we have PT and doing an extra four of my own session each week.
I need a little bit of help with workouts to do. I prefer not to use the gym as it is usually quite busy so hard to use the machines.
Can anyone help me with workouts that I can do that doesn't involve a gym. Any can people please share tips to eat healthier and ways to stop those cravings!

I work out a lot and don't go to the gym so I should be able to help!
I've taken up jogging and I really enjoy it! Free, no equipment and fresh air! As you're in the military your fitness levels must be miles better than mine, but I started out with the c25k programme to get into jogging (walking/jogging intervals)
Another way to excercise at home is youtube workouts - there are thousands on there! Have a look at the BeFit channel, or just have a search for what you want. There are lots without equipment, although for the ones with dumbbells you can use full water bottles or cans of soup (although these may not be heavy enough for you as you're in the military?)
For strength training you can do bodyweight excercises - things like push ups, tricep dips, sit ups etc, again have a look on youtube - search for bodyweight excercises, or no equipment strength training.
In terms of eating tips, you just need to be strict with the logging (and WEIGH EVERYTHING), I felt hungry for the first few days but then got used to it. Also in terms of cravings I tend to give into the cravings as long as it fits into my calorie goal. eg. If I'm craving cheese, rather than telling myself I'm not allowed it (and then maybe caving in later and going over my goal) I'll have like 20-30g, either as a snack or sliced/grated thinly and on toast as my lunch. A little bit of what you fancy is enough! And if you do have a bad day, don't get disheartened, just start over the next day.

Other search terms to use for body weight training would be "you are your own gym" or "convict training"0

I use to be a drill Sargent in the Army... and I'll give you some advice in losing weight in the military.... get a workout buddy.. someone like yourself that needs motivation...
Nothing beats a buddy pushing you... sadly there are alot of people in the military that are over the limit0 -
The only way to I know to stop the cravings is to not eat sweets or other carbs.
Eat lots of veggies and limit fruit to one or two a day.
Eat protein and fats. Oil and butter are good.
Snack on nuts, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, cheese, hard boiled eggs, pork rinds, . .0 -
Running, cycling, swimming, calisthenics, just to name a few. For cravings, everytime i crave something, I just drink some Crystal Light, Black coffee, Green tea and/or chew on some unsalted/unflavored sunflower seeds. But the most important thing that can help you is YOURSELF and YOURSELF only. Don't quit, drink plenty of H2O, be strong mentally and you'll see results.0
