Stupid but honest question about jeans

At my higher weights, low waisted and/or skinny jeans not part of my wardrobe for obvious reasons. I have these jeans and I need honest feedback....
Should this be where the pockets sit or do I need a much smaller *kitten*? Should they be riding lower or higher from where they are?....honest question and looking for honest answers before I wear them outdoors and look like a fool. Pretty sure the height of my waist isn't going to get shorter, so I may need to give up on low waist pants regardless the size of my back end.

The way low rise jeans are made they will pretty much always sit on your body like that. I had to give up low rise jeans for a few reasons. Some of our body types just don't look right in them. And the pockets are sewn on below crotch level so I really think they are supposed to fit like that. If they are comfortable wear them out. If you will feel uncomfortable or always pulling them up or self conscious, don't.0

I may have to give them up...good thing they're hand me downs. I feel like I'm falling out of my pants all day0

Victoria's Secret jeans fit me like that. I don't think you look bad.0
-
Low rise jeans are awful! I just found some mid rise jeans at express that are pretty comfy. I am looking for more places that carry mid rise0
-
I agree with the two previous posters. If you are uncomfortable, don't wear them, but I think they look fine. The issue I have with low rise jeans is the butt-crack issue.0

low rise jeans are made for people with short waists, relatively slim hipped and no belly overhang. if you dont fit all 3 then they arent really going to work. i personally go for mid rise (i have overhang.. in fact my overhang has overhang) AND check pocket placement because many brands (especially the cheapo ones) will be the right rise but will leave your back side looking like one big floppy pancake.
OP these are not the jeans for you. first and foremost, the bottom pocket is lower than your butt which is going to make your bootie look long and saggy.
if you dont want to shell out the dough on designer jeans then check out express jeans. I think for the price they have great styles that will leave your bootie looking fab0 -
I think they look fine on you, but I would suggest different underwear (to maximize your bootilisciousness). The pockets are sitting where they are supposed to, I don't know what the previous poster is going on about. I think you look great.0

I get "mid-rise" jeans. I can't stand the way that pants or jeans look when the waistband is at the waist! I hope they don't ever come back in style. Not only are they tacky, but natural-waist jeans are uncomfortable, on me at least. According to size charts, my 29" waist is an 8 or a 10; my 34" hips, a 0 or a 2! I wear size 4 jeans. If I wore natural-waist jeans, I would have to wear size 8. There's probably many women who wear 8s who are really 4s because they like natural-waist jeans. I don't even think natural- waist jeans look good on tall, thin figures. I just think they're ugly. Lots of jeans are made with pockets that sit too low! I guess they are made for people with longer butts. You just have to try on different brands and styles to find the ones where the pockets sit right.0

seriously?
pockets are supposed to be on your butt. the bottom of that pocket is on the OP's THIGH. that's why there is creasing towards the bottom.
i dont understand the point of wearing something you dont look 100% fabulous in, especially when there are so many different jean styles to chose from that will take you from mheh to wow.0 -
I hate low rise jeans like that. You should get some mid rise jeans they will be a lot more flattering. And its not that your body is bad or anything its that those jeans are made for like tiny baby midgets or something seriously LOL0

I can't shorten my waist and I'm aiming to keep my butt round and not lose it, so these style jeans are out for me then. I'd be interested to hear more about where I find bootylicious underwear, though0

I really hope they do come back. I like my pants at my waist. I find them more comfortable. My runners tights sit at my waist. My skirts sit at my waist. My mid rise jeans from express do sit at my waist. Its great we live in a world where there are many stores with lots of styles to fit a variety of tastes. Just don't insult others peoples taste. At least do it in your head instead of out loud.
I wear a 2 or a 4 in mid rise (at waist) and I think they feel and look best. I love that my 41 year old booty is not hanging out of them and I love setting a good example for my daughters0 -
I apologize. I realize that clothing manufacturers and fashion designers are working on bringing back higher-waisted pants and skirts and that some fashionable people are indeed wearing them. They are actualy considered cutting-edge style because they are new. Low-rise and mid-rise have been in style for a long long time. The higher-waisted pants are actually trendier. I apologize. It was wrong for me to say that or even think it. I knew that they are already starting to be back in fashion. I was in denial! I just don't like them and that is what I should have said. The only pants that are 100% out-of-style for anyone to wear in 2014-- or anytime since the 1980s--are TAPERED-LEG pants that are full in the thighs and taper down to the pants hemline. I will stand by THAT statement!0

Seriously. Some jeans are made that way - I have several where the pockets sit right there. I assure you my butt does not look 'long' in them. *shrug*0 -

This.
OP, you look good.
The only thing bugging me is the one long fingernail. I don't mean to be a jerk but that just gets my OCD going LOL0 -
They look fine to me OP0
-
I think they look nice. The crease looks like it's coming from your choice of underwear, not the style of the pockets. Try either wearing a thong or some girl boxers underneath, that should take the line right out.0

Yea.... They FIT - but the shape of the pant and position of the pockets are HORRIBLE.... Not your fault at all... Those jeans = no bueno..... pockets shouldn't go under your a$s...0
-
I thought low rise jeans meant you could see her thong? Or am I way off base?
lol
Kind of off base. In rap videos yes...but women in the general public do NOT go that route, it's pretty trashy looking.0 -
Those jeans look to me like they would be uncomfortable! Both riding up and falling off one's rear end. But I prefer mid-rise jeans because I can't bear having those two issues so I am biased.
I do think jeans with pockets that actually sit on a person's butt rather than going down onto the legs look better. But fashion is a matter of personal style and preference!
Basically I would not pick them for myself but if you like them and you feel good in them, wear 'em!0 -

Yeah, I don't think the problem is your butt, rather where on the garment the pockets are sewn. There's that whole extra panel strip below the waist/belt loops that make the pockets extra low. If I'm being honest, not the most flattering, but it doesn't have anything to do with your body - it's the pants.0

The bolded section is not right for everyone, at my standard adult size I loved when low waist jeans came into style. I always had a small waist with flat stomach but I have hips and a butt. Mid-rise and waist high jeans size 6 fit my butt but the jeans belled out around my waist so bad that even a belt made the waist line fold over. That looked awful.
Unfortunately many lowrise jeans do have the pocket that low, not always the most flattering. Op I think they look fine, the crease does seem to be from undies, a thong or seem less panies should do the trick.0 -
O.P Express makes a mid-waist jeans "curvy style", those jeans are low-rise at the front but a little higher on the back ( for people with round butt), so you don't have to be worry about showing your crack. I use them and I love the way I look with those jeans.0

I've found similar cuts from (juniors) Wallflowers brand, LOFT, and Target. Usually called curvy skinny, curvy fit, etc. They are great!0 -
omg finding a pair of jeans that wil look good on me is impossible Any advice ladies?
My legs are thish 21 inches at the top
and my butt kind of flat and wide lol0 -
I'd go for smaller, more angled pockets myself.0

I may be old, but I miss the fit of the jeans in the 80's on women.
