Trying to lose 55 lbs before getting pregnant again

Hi, my name is Justine. I am 22 years old and I have daughter will turn 2 at the end of this month. My husband and I have decided that we're almost ready for our second child
The only thing holding me back is my weight. I want to get back down to, or close to, 180 lbs before we start trying in January. Losing this weight is so important to me, because it will up my chances of having a successful vbac by 15-20%. (for those of you who do not know what a vbac is, just google it lol)
I have been on and off diets for years. I could just never stick to any of them, because I didn't have much motivation or a real reason to lose the weight. Now I have my reason, I just need the motivation. Someone to check in with me to keep me going

Make sure you supplement folic acid while you do your diet so that your body stores of it are high before you get pregnant. It prevents spinal bifida and possibly cleft palate.
The most important tool for diet success is accurately recording what you eat. MFP makes that so much easier than it is to do by hand.
It also helps to pick a diet that makes you feel less hungry. For me, low carb works better because sugars don't seem to trigger my body's awareness it is full, but fats do. So if I don't restrict fats, I feel full and spontaneously eat fewer calories.
For some people, the filing diet is low fat, higher carbs. For some it is high fiber. Some just stick to calorie restriction through portion size so they never have to skip a favorite kind of food. You have to figure out which strategy makes your hunger less compelling than your willpower.0 -
Hello Justine , I am Rosy . I am glad to see that there is someone that has the same exact goal as me. I am also trying to loose weight in order to get pregnant. ( It will be a first for me ). Now that I have started using this site , I realized I had terrible eating habits and have been eating way too much calories for my level of activity . I am not at a healthy weight and don't like what I see in the mirror. My diet needs some dramatic ,so time to do something about it . So let's do it0

hey guys I'm too trying to lose weight to fall pregnant, losing this weight is so important to me after suffering 3 horrific miscarriages in one year in 2012 it has taken me till now to get myself back on track and motivated to try again.
