What is the best bread to eat? I know people have told me to look at the ingredients because some that say are good, are really bad for you. Need suggestions on what brand and kind, thanks.

I like Arnold's Double Fiber bread0

a good rule to use is: the best bread is that which uses the fewest ingredients
this helps keep crap ingredients to a minimum
I would go further and say that whole grains are better than refined
I mostly just eat sourdough rye bread. For tortillas I stick with corn rather than wheat.0 -

I don't personally think there is a measurable difference between wheat bread vs. "white" bread but I'm sure you'll get more people suggesting you go with whole wheat. Check the list of ingredients on the back.
Look for: Whole wheat flour
Avoid: High Fructose Corn Syrup, Dextrose, Partially Hydrogenated Anything.
...but that's only if you want to get nit-picky. Be prepared to spend lots of time in the bread aisle since 99% of bread out there has some combination of things to avoid. :laugh:0 -
Watch out for breads with HFC in it. I never realized it before, but it's in most breads. I don't really understand why they have to include HFC in bread. I choose breads now that include no HFC and taste great and taste the same to me as regular bread. I've also noticed that breads without HFC tend to last longer than breads with HFC. I like the Arnold bread line. I really like the Arnold Sandwich Thins and in every flavor available. They're all very tasty. I like bagels too and now they make bagel thins. Those are really good too. Your good going with any type of bread that has a lot of whole grains in it, just not with HFC. Hope this helps0

True about spending futile time in the bread aisle reading label after label. I've found the healthiest breads in the freezer section! I believe they go bad faster because there's less preservative crap in them, so the store takes less risk by selling them in the freezer section. The healthy choices also probably, unfortunately sell more slowly.0 -
I like sprouted bread rye and wheat (I get it from trader Joes )0
