This is the second time I've seriously tried to lose weight. I have poly-cystic ovarian syndrome. Several years ago, I decided to do it, worked out 5 days a week for 90 minutes a day and after 6 months.....lost 9 pounds. I became so frustrated that I gave up. Almost three years ago, I had my daughter, and about a month and a half ago, realized at my annual physical that I was 19 pounds heavier than when I delivered. So, since May 21st, here are my victories:
1. I am wearing a pair of jeans I haven't fit into since I got pregnant.
2. I weigh less now than when I delivered my daughter.
3. I teach drug and alcohol prevention groups to at-risk teenagers. Yesterday when I went to the waiting room to get the teens, one of the girls announced that I looked pretty. It's the first time someone other than my husband or parents have told me I'm pretty in years. I nearly cried.
4. My favorite shirt is too big as of this morning.
5. I bought a dress from the regular section instead of the plus sized section.
6. I went from a 24 to a 20.
I may still have 100 pounds to go, but I've lost the first 22 and that feels good.18 -
I have 2 - the first is my bras are too big (not a victory in my husbands books) and the second is that for the first time in years I did a 5k walk with zero pain in my hips and pelvis!!4

I do something called the blazer test. At the beginning of my workout regimen I tried to put on a blazer that wouldn't fit at all. I tried it on again after the first five weeks of my routine and now I can button it. I recorded myself both times; I'll post the video here when I learn how to edit. LOL3

Actually getting a normal blood pressure reading! Can not remember ever being in the normal range my doctor was saying he might have to put me on tablets but not today!! It is a wonderful feeling5

even though i know the scale really shouldn't matter as long as fitness level is increasing (at first i could barely run 1 mile on the elliptical and now i'm up to 5), measurements are going down and such (i don't even remember the total i've lost so many all over but to sum it up, my stomach isn't past my boobs anymore, and i'm now wearing 10/12 pants )...so with all that i was still getting a little miffed at the scale for holding out on me. so today i hopped on the scale with low expectations, i mean how much of the build up and let down can 1 person take? well surprise surprise I am officially in the 160s!!!!!!! started off at 191. don't get me wrong, i am very proud of all these other accomplishments, but something about that stupid little number on that stupid scale made me absolutely ecstatic this morning and really made me feel like i'm accomplishing something. maybe because i still have my fat googles on (not sure if it's an actual term, but it's what i call it).5

Caught 2 men checking out my legs during my ride last night. That hasn't happened in a very long time.5

I have this adorable pair of white capri pants that were just too tight - too much muffin top to wear with any cute tops. THEY FIT ME TODAY - WITH WIGGLE ROOM! I could even pull them away from my hips!5
-
my neighbor stared at me today when we were hanging out because she was so shocked at how much weight i've lost :blushing: best feeling ever.
also, last night at target tried on a L blazer and it fit!
also, had the nerve to try a maxi dress....usually hate the way it shows every lump of my tummy and thighs and butt....it actually fit really nice and floated over my curves the way a dress is supposed to! i honestly wanted to cry.
even though i'm 25 lbs heavier, i am the same size i was in high school and my body is shaped much better  good news considering my 10 year reunion is in 2 weeks!6 -
Nice job on the 10K PB!!!
I recently fit into a pair of pants that I wore for my engagement photo when I was 22! Fun stuff there!2 -
People routinely take me for 10 years younger than I am.
My brother's soon-to-be-stepmother-in-law thought I was younger than him when we met last weekend. Nope, I'm four and a half years older!
I tried on a pair of size 18 jeans the other night and they fit, albeit snugly3 -
I've had a few recently. 1) I went to White House Black Market and bought a dress that was XS! (awesome clothes, btw); 2) Last weekend I ran 10 miles and was under my previous fastest per mile pace by 20 sec; 3) I was driving in my car and some cute younger guy said I was beautiful and asked if I was married and for my number. (kinda creepy to be asked while I'm driving, but still flattered) It's been a great last few weeks !3

I remember when I went from the plus to the regular section. It felt soooo good. Now I'm at a place I never dreamed. When I had my last child I was a size 22, now I'm a 4 Congrats on your success, and you can do it!!!!5 -
My belly is no longer past my chest.
And The other day My skirt fell down and I showed a couple people my underwear on accident. LOL5 -
At our family's 4th of July bash, my (technically my husband's) cousin's boyfriend couldn't believe how much weight I'd lost! Seriously. He was gushing! Wanted to know how much I'd lost & what I'd been doing to loose it! Just couldn't get over that I'd lost so much weight (about 42 lbs) & kept telling me how great I looked. It was almost embarrassing lol... My BIL had told me a month or so ago how great I was looking. People who see me every day tell me how great I'm looking but to hear it from those I don't see as often has been nice.
Have also been able to fit into a couple of "smaller" 2x shirts & several 1x shirts that before were too small.
When I don't get a chance to go walking (with my DH or otherwise), I miss it. :happy:4 -
Yesterday, I went for a run in the park. Wearing running tights. In public. And when I ran past a couple of giggling teenagers, I didn't automatically assume they were laughing at me!
Congrats!! Isn't that great, when you no longer feel like the punchline of a joke?3 -
Woohoo! Congrats on your faster time1

Way to go!!1

Another NSV from yesterday. My mother-in-law brought out a box of Ding Dongs (my ABSOLUTE favorite!) and offered me one. I said no, quickly followed by, "I can't believe I just turned down a Ding Dong!" My husband said, "Are you okay? You never pass up Ding Dongs!"
ETA:
This! I turned down the dessert selection at today's work potluck. Day 5 of my sugar free spree3 -
About 6 months ago, I was my smallest ever as an adult. Down from a high of size 18, I wore a certain pair of size 8 skinny jeans as my regular jeans. Things happened and I put on somewhere between 8-13 pounds. All the other new clothes fit OK, but those jeans really refused.
Today I put those jeans on again : )8 -
I was out speed walking (bad knees) and passed a gal jogging in front of me. :happy:6

Actually, and this is hard to describe, but I feel, "lighter". I've lost 20 lbs off my high and it is just so much easier to move around without having to carry that weight and have it be in the way. I'm very pleased.9

A skirt that was a bit tight when I bought it a month ago, fits me just fine today. Actually a little loose around the hips.3
-
I tried a new workout today: TRX suspension training. It was really fun, they hook you up to these cables and you use your body weight as resistance weight for strenght, flexibility, cardio and stability
I looked skinny in a picture my cousin took of me
I'm starting to feel like I look relatively small again!5 -

I've been experiencing this exact feeling lately.2 -
Realising that due to all the weightloss and exercise I am now that much fitter when participating in 2 on 1 sparring at my local karate class the 2 guys I was sparring with commented on how was I still going strong when they were both knackered!!!4

I've been using this app to track my weight and measurements now that I'm at maintenance. I wish I did it earlier, but I noticed my body was still changing even though I'm not in a weight-losing mindset.
So, I've lost a couple of pounds , but I'm still in my range and this morning, my weigh and measure day, my body fat % was down to 19.6% from 25 five weeks ago. I've wanted to be in the athletic range rather than average, and here I am! ;-)
I've lost a total of three inches, which doesn't show up too much in the photos I take, but I've started wearing a size 6 or small instead of an 8 and medium in a lot of new clothing. Hey! I'm 67. Eat your heart out. lol7 -
I actually was able to fit into a bra at Victoria's Secret recently! Might sound crazy, but I can't remember the last time I was in a "normal" size bra.5

Yesterday I ran, and it felt great. So I ran faster, and it felt great. So I put it on an incline, then did treadmill lunges. And it felt great. I put the flexibility machine on it's highest setting. That made me feel good. I took a shower at the gym. When did I start being someone that showers at the gym? I put on a little back dress and let my hair down. Is that really me, looking glamorous coming out of the health club? Got a healthy drive-thru lunch. I didn't get fries? I'm still amazed, and I thank God, because, wow. For all of these to happen in one day - I knew it had to be God!10

I love this post. You've put all the reasons it's worth it to put the time and effort into being healthy down in one paragraph. Plus you show gratitude for your strength. Way to go!3 -
About 3 weeks ago, around the time I joined MFP, I started walking up the 6 flights of stairs to my office. Every day. (Sometimes twice!)... instead of taking the elevator as I have - every day - for the past four years.
And finally, in the past day or so, it's started to feel a little easier!
And as of this morning, I've exercised four days in a row (can't remember the last time that happened), even though yesterday was a planned rest day.5
