I've managed to lose 15lbs in 3 weeks but it seems to have stopped, I'm feeling really disheartened and just dont know what else to do? Has this happened anyone else? What can I do? I've got 42lbs to go and I really dont want it to stop now

How long has it been since you last lost weight?0

If it's a single week or two stall, I wouldn't worry about it too much. TOM, increased sodium, new workout routine can all cause temporary gain/stall on the scale. If it's been longer, look closely at your tracking to see if maybe you have been not tracking as accurately.0

If you only had 50-60 lbs to lose, 15 lbs in three weeks is a lot. Without being able to see your stats/calorie intake/diary, it's hard to say what has happened. Chances are, you cut your calories a bit too drastically, and much of that 15 lbs was probably water weight. Try using the guide in the link above, or open your diary so we can see how much you're eating.0 -
Hi, 5 lbs/week is too much. You cannot maintain that type of weight loss. What is your nutrition like? You may be eating too little, which can cause weight loss to stall. How are you exercising? We need more information to really help.

Since it usually inadvisable to lose more than two pounds a week, you are nine pounds ahead of the game for a three week period. Relax, make sure you are eating a variety of nutritious foods. Your body will adjust to your new weight and start losing again. Generally, slower is better over the long term.0

Agree... slower is better over the long term and it took me a while to figure this out. My weight loss was rapid and when I hit various "stalls" I took measures such as changing up my exercise routine, lowering my calories (not advisable), changing the foods and times that I eat, fasting one day per week, doing a calorie and carb day (eating more than my target) and the next day staying under 1000 (again, not advisable). But that all worked for me within a few days of the plateau. That is just what worked for me... everyone is different. I don't believe in the "starvation mode" thing. When people mention that to me I think about a friend who did a 30 day fast and lost over 40 pounds in that time frame. There was no starvation mode there and his metabolism along with his mental clarity were over the top after the first few days. Again, that was him. Not everyone can do this. He did it for spiritual reasons. Hope this helps.0

Increase your calorie deficit until you see a difference on the scale. The lighter you get the less calories you need to consume to continue losing weight.0

Sorry, I should have given more information
I'm eating what I would think is a reasonable diet, I have weetabix with almond milk for breakfast, lunch is generally half a chicken breast with a mixed salad and dinner is generally chicken/fish with veg or i'll have poached eggs with salad and occasionally a small slice of wholemeal toast. I am drinking at least 2 litres of water a day, I love water so I find this really easy. If I get hungry between meals I've been having fruit such as grapes or around 5 unsalted pistachio nuts.
Exercise has been pretty good, I tend to workout 4 to 5 times per week and switch it up between cardio and weights, 2 or 3 nights per week I'll take a long fast walk (generally with my puppy who makes it impossible to walk slow) I usually do this for an hour or two. To keep things interesting and to get a different kind of exercise in to my routine I have been using my step box, kettle bells and resistance bands, I've also started to do a little bit of boxing with my partner.
Hope this helps
Any advice welcome!0
