I can't let this happen!

I followed the dietary program of Venus Index, 12 weeks I'd say very well. Started on my second round of the 12 week program because I had not done the weight training. I lost 16 lbs in the 12 weeks, not as much as I wanted, I' like to loose another 10-15 lbs to reach my target weight goal, so I'm adding in weight training.
However I was all about staying on track but I went thru last three weekends of party celebrations, with two weeks prior a complete stand still. very nervous of loosing all my hard work. Every thing came out fine, I ended up loosing a lb and total of 2 inches, not all in my waist though.
So in the middle of my third week 2nd time, the last two days I have been so far over, I've actually been eating trail mix, cinn bread, organic ice cream (about 1/2 cup), protien bars, eggs and bacon, deli lunch meat and cheese, and finally tonight after almost reaching my calorie intake for the day, I continued on....Ledos pizza a three square pieces, and a big serving go there chocolate cake, by this point I knew I was going way over, but unlike I would have before, now I had it anyway. Didn't even think of the results on my diary. I don't want to loose my willpower, or to be eating unhealthy processed foods, or backtrack.
I don't know how to handle this bump. I weighed 119.8 this morning, and 121 tonight. Understand that looking at those two figures on a day like today is unrealistic, but I'm so nervous I had to weigh in. I've worked to hard to have these type of screw up days. Am I doing something with my diet to cause this to happen, or is it normal to go through a stage like this?

Stop worrying! Weight fluctuates by several pounds throughout the day. Weigh yourself the same time every day. You weigh the least first thing in the morning. Go to the bathroom and get on the scale naked. Don't stress over it, it's normal.0

Your weight can fluctuate 5 lbs in any given day to begin with, but you also need to consider that you ate deli meat and cheese, as well as some Ledo pizza, all of which have quite a bit of sodium and will cause you to retain water. So take anything the scale says with a grain of salt right now, drink plenty of water, and give your body a few days to flush out the water weight.
Now, as far as going on the last few days, yes, lots of people have times where they are really hungry and go over, or just get tired of being so strict with their diet and go over just to retain their sanity. Unless you ate over your maintenance for the week, the scale isn't going to go up, so don't drive yourself crazy. But, you should figure out what's going on. If it's just frustration with being strict with your diet, then log it, move on, and get back on track.
However, given what you described, I don't think that's it. You've lost weight and added in weight training, both of which impact your TDEE. Have you calculated that recently? You may not be eating enough to fuel your new workouts, which would explain why you are so hungry.0 -
I don't suppose that between this morning and tonight you... ate? drank? oh right - you had food!
You CAN'T compare a weight in the morning and a weight at night. That 1.1lbs is 600ml of water that you drank. It's your lunch. It's dinner. If you stand on the scale holding a litre bottle of water, you will weigh a kilo more. If you then drink that water and hop back on the scale, you will weigh that kilo more.
Not to mention weight fluctuates. I have lost 10lbs in 4 days after gaining 7 in 3. It was salt, and water retention and it goes.
If you're going to fret like this, you need to commit to weighing less often, at the same time of day, in the same circumstance. I recommend 1st thing in the morning, nude and after using the toilet.0 -
Stressing over half a liter of water weight is not productive.0

Thanks! Almost everyone bringing up the same point, and that would be not to worry. I guess I'm feeling guilty for going over lately and not making the right choices. I did it right the first twelve weeks, I'm sure I can do it again, and with a fitness training. Really made me nervous to see those bad decisions on food so many times these last two weeks.
I appreciate your time to reply and your advice0 -
You have screw up days because your calories are set to 1000 and you don't even hit that some days. Plus, you eat almost no protein. As discussed in this thread by you the other day

Thanks for posting the link to the other thread.
OP ... you're getting good advice in multiple threads now but you've yet to put it to use. Looking through your diary there are eight days since June 1st where you've eaten 1000 or more calories. Your macronutrient counts suck. Coupling that with stressing over an interday fluctuation of less than two pounds indicates to me an unhealthy food relationship and unwise approach to weight loss.0 -
every morning i weigh 3 to 4 pounds less than i do EVERY night. even lettuce, which has almost no calories at all, weighs something, and when you eat it, it weighs something inside you, as well. i sometimes amuse myself by weighing myself before and after a meal just to see the difference. or weigh myself, drink 2 cups of water, and then weigh myself after the water to see i weigh a pound more.
if you eat any food and drink anything, you'll weigh 2 more pounds at night than you did when you woke up, even if you're losing weight.
1000 calories per day isn't enough unless you're under 5', and even then if you work out it could be too low.0
