hey guys n gals. my name is jesse and i am 34(next monday...lol) i gained a couple(ish) hundred pounds from 2009-2013 due to medication from recent bi-polar diagnosis,then back surgery from a 25' fall off a roof(in 2004), and plain old complacency/laziness. i stopped drinking last summer and was just more aware of what i was eating and lost 55 lbs, only to gain it back last winter. this year i decided i am tired of looking in the mirror at the eyesore that is my 550lb body. i began with just adjusting my meal times as i was a horrible night eater/snacker. that led into stopping ordering delivery food in and was cooking more, but still bad foods like mac n cheese,spaghetti,alfredo,and ramen noodles. 2 months ago(weighing 532 June 5th) i moved in with a friend and started eating a little better. i weighed myself on July 3rd and i was at 510lbs(22LB LOSS!!!). since then i have begun aggressively locking down what i eat. i heard from a friend about myfitnesspal and signed up monday. my goal is to get back down to the 270 i have been my whole adult life before the big gain. i am doing great and usually am in negative calories every day. i am not following any one diet but i cut carbs to almost nothing and stopped using salt. i eat lots of veggies(the correct ones),chicken,brown rice,greek yogurt with granola and fresh fruit,and scrambled eggs with peppers,onions,mushrooms,ham,and cheese. cholula and siracha hot sauces are my friend for the flavor as are natural seasonings. hope to meet some good peeps on here.
