Hello!
I recently bought a nutrbullet, and I am using it as my way of juicing. I have kale, carrots, celery, ginger, apples, berries for flavor. In addition to that I throw in two scoops of a good protein powder to make it further filling. I know the point of it is for a body detox and cleanse. Would it defeat the purpose to still have like a chicken breast, or pork chop etc. some form of meat? Thank you for your feedback.

I have no opinion on this. I think my body does a fine job of cleansing itself and as such I don't do any cleanses. I am going to warn you though...this topic does not go well here. Be prepared for a lot of posts of gifs and people telling you not to buy into cleanses.0

I hate juice cleanses. I felt terrible after trying it...And I wouldn't recommend it. But if you are going to do it, eat nuts, avocados, and/or salads to keep from dying. Healthy fats help you take in more nutrients...or so I've heard. Lean meat will most likely do just fine too.
Juice, just juice on the other hand. Is delicious. I made a kiwi/jalapeno/strawberry mix once and it was sooooo good!0 -
Juice cleanses are nice because I love juice, but I always need real food after two or three days- never can seem to last very long on just juice lol0

Thank you for the suggestions!0

Buying a nutribullet doesn't mean you have to stop eating food. Cleanses are nonsense. Smoothies are yummy. But you still need food! I have a nutribullet - I never considered not eating food because I purchased it.0

Juice as part of a healthy balance diet - yes, wonderful
Just juice - No, terrible idea. Pointless and does nothing good - and can cause problems and have very unwanted side effects.

I love my Nutribullet and use it every day to make one juice / protein shake as a meal replacement (either breakfast or lunch). I especially like it after a hard workout to get the nutrients right into my system no muss no fuss!
Funny, I was reading about juicing fasts last night and from what I understand (most of them) recommend five or six juice meals a day between 8 to 10 ounces (I think), and an 8 oz. glass of water right after. There is a three day one that you can do over the weekend. Most of them indicate that you should not eat solid food at all while on the juice fast because that is just counter-intuitive. I also read that if you're extremely hungry and about to cave in, you should just much on some carrots or celery, etc. Also, during a juice fast you shouldn't do any intense exercise. Light exercise is OK, walking, light jogging, yoga, etc. And when you're finished with the fast you should eat very light easily digestible foods on your first day back.
I don't truly like the idea of fasting per se but I do think it is a good way to kick start a healthy nutrition / diet plan in your life.
Instead of a full on fast, maybe try doing two meal replacements a day for a week and see how that goes?
Last... almost all the juice fast information I read said that any weight you lose during the fast will be regained once you get back to eating normally... it is only temporary. Not meant to lose weight but to detox your system. But yeah... if you're eating the right things your body should be able to detox naturally anyway.
I am on the fence about it0 -
I think you have it the other way around... juicing "cleanse" or "detox" will defeat the purpose of you eating real food, like chicken. Save your underwear and eat real food.0
