So discouraged

Hi so I have been on and off myfitnesspal but have left it alone for a while now. Last week I was in at 9.12 1/2 and on the Friday I had dropped to 9.11. At the weekend I was a bit naughty, not over the top just eating a few bits I wouldn't normally and I was happy not stressing! I was so happy to be 9.11 and planned to be 9.10 this Friday. HOWEVER all this week I have be 10stone! Yesterday I dropped to 9.13 1/2 and the same today, I have had such a bloated stomach but even my jeans seem tighter! My question is was I even 9.11 in the first place and how long can bloating stick around? I'm fed up of saying to myself today is a new day im just miserable.

    These are just normal daily fluctuations that can differ up to 5 pounds a day. You have so little to lose (6 pounds) you need to have some patience and as these normal fluctuations are causing you so much stress weighing daily is really not doing you any good. I suggest weighing weekly or even 2 weekly otherwise you'll just drive yourself mad. As you have so little to lose it could take a while

    Yup, daily fluctuations happen, often. Things that contribute to fluctuations: TOM and more than usual salt intake. Have an extra glass of water each day for the next few and step away from the scale if it is driving you this nuts. You'll get there. Slower than you would like, but you need to be consistent and persistent. Keep focused and you can do it! :flowerforyou:

    Please do NOT allow your weight to make you feel low. I peeked on your profile before answering this, and I see that you're a woman. Is it possible that your monthly is the cause? Do you have gluten intolerance? Need to drink a bit more water? I don't know exactly what may have caused you to bloat, but please don' feel bad. It's quite normal. I get bloated around "that time", and if I consume artificial sweeteners. I retain fluid VERY easily. It is more than likely water weight. You have the knowledge you need to lose weight, so just feel confident in knowing that you know how to get back down to where you were. Eat a bit cleaner, continue to work harder, and YOU WILL get rid of the weight.
  • Thanks everyone :) I want to be 9.7 so at 9.11 I was only 4lbs away! My totm is a week or so away so I didn't think it would be the cause ?
  • I have also been drinking so much water, even my other half said maybe that's what it was but I explained water retention from salt and sodium lol

    Can still be. Some people will be up a pound or two for the week before. I am usually up a few days in advance. Honestly, do not let it get to you. This will be a painful process if these fluctuations bother you. Stick with what you are doing.
