awwww here give her to auntie ali for a bit...I'll walk around w/ her and bounce and sing softly while you rest...poor baby...poor mommy! (that's basically what I had to do w/ my guy lol)
I wish I could girl! I remember those days well.....teethings can be a nightmare for them....I used to give him a frozen water ring...they sell them for just that or did when my guy was a baby...and he'd naw on that ....cold facecloths, tylenol etc...I've tried them all....but still he had a rough bout of it...HUGS and give that princess a big soft kiss and hug from her cyber auntie Ali.....here's hoping it all goes by quickly hon!
hugs!

Hi
Boy, I remember those days
Nothing helped my kids either and I think they were worse on motrin/tylenol
I tried then without any luck but some of my friends/family SWEAR by Hyland's (sp?) teehting tablets
You can get them at Whole Foods or a health food store
Good luck and hope this passes quickly

Thanks for the suggestion on the teething tablets, I will definately look into those!
Hey ali, u're such a sweetheart...:) I hope it goes by quickly too. I just feel sooo bad for her! She's quiet now, probably plotting her next "pop up and scream" session...I have carried and bounced and I can't do it for long, she weighs 28lbs! Thanks again, both of you0 -
Margaritta's...
Not for the baby, for you.
Drink one, the crying will seem less upsetting. Hold your baby (put the empty drink down first:laugh: ) and just snuggle. Snuggle now because soon you won't have the fussing or snuggling. This along with a pacifier or something (for the baby this time) should help  . I remember those days. Girl!!

ah ha...so this is why I should have NOT taken away the pacifier at 6 months like the dr told me to?...lol I sometimes wish I hadn't taken it away, it's times like these when I think it would help...poor baby! I snuggle her and she screams...she is not happy! The only thing I can do to quiet her down is go sit in the bathtub with her, and we can't stay in there all day...lol Thanks PL! (contemplating margaritta time and realizing it's only noontime HA...)0

Sounds weird....BUT, what is working right now for my littlest is this... A sock (clean one, obviously  ) filled with ice chips, if you have cubes fill the sock , tie it in a knot and bang it until the ice breaks into little chips. My little boy loves sucking on the ice sock. Nothing else seemed to work. Someone gave me that advice and it worked for me!
Good Luck, and just remember that it will pass soon.0 -
thanks emi! I will give that a try....I worry she'll get cold though lol But I will definately try it. And I'm headed to the store when hubby wakes up (grrr) to get some of those teething tablets!0

If she doesn't already have alot of teeth in there, let her bite down on your fingers. My son would always calm down if I would massage his gums or apply pressure to them with my fingers. Just be warned that they will bite down pretty good since I think the pressure on them helps the pain. He got me good a couple times even with no teeth so I had to stop doing it after he got too many teeth!0
-
I remember and I do not think that there is a Mom in here that does not feel for you.
My Mom put burbon on her finger and rubbed my gums with it. But I do not SUGGEST THAT!
I used frozen waffels for Erin.
I got the idea from watching the Rosanne show believe it or not. But IT WORKED belive it or not.
the coolness of the waffle calmed the toothy pain, and the holes collected the droolieness.
When it was goopy you tosed it out. and got another one.
I found they held up better then the cookies. and where less messy.
Other then that dear it is a waiting game... When it is done it is done and you will not have to worry about it until your next child.
That is if you plan to have another child after teething pain.

I know this sounds so redneck but after not listening to the advise of my mentor after two months of hell i tried it and it worked....
GIve her a rib bone to naw on. Trust me i did it with RIon and his teeth starting popping over night it was crazy0 -
Ah yes, I tried the frozen waffles too and he loved that. Although he doesn't often complain when offered food so I am not sure if it was that it helped his teeth or he was happy he was eating waffles!! My 3 yr old would get so frustrated because I would insist on cooking hers instead of letting her eat them frozen like brother!0

Ya umm...although I am the perfect Mom in every way shape and form...((cough-cough)) Against everyone including family self experts (lol), I let my daughter have hers a long time..Maybe almost 2??? I'll be honest. I wanted SOMETHING to plug up that hole! I had early walkers, early talkers, my son cried all the time, my daughter just wanted hers. So I gave it to her. It is your kid, do what you want. I have amazing kids now. My daughter can walk talk and breath, so whatever damage I caused with giving her a pacifier "too long", she's over it now. Plug the hole! Plug the hole!
See? Look how the paci below keeps Britney from saying anything dumb and off the pole??? See?0 -
Awesome kim! They have them at my CVS
Thanks so much! And the waffle idea is just plain genius...when little miss fussy butt wakes up from her nap (I was VERY persistent and she had about 3 bottles) I will have some ammunition! lol I am waging war with my 9 month old....awful lol

I really wish sometimes that I had not followed the advice of EVERYONE and taken the thing away..she liked it! I tried to give it back to her a week later and she wouldn't take it back...it sucked...lol

My son will be 2 in October and I am still working on getting the binky away. We are down to bedtime only. My daughter on the other hand, starting teething at 4 months old and as soon as that first tooth was through she wanted nothing to do with the binky and started refusing it. So there is just no telling, if she turned it down that soon after you took it away she may have been getting ready to give it up on her own anyways.0

I know you said a cold wash cloth but I actually froze mine. I would wet half the washcloth and freeze it. Then Marie could hold the dry part with out freezing her fingers and suck on the frozen part.0 -
Good idea on the frozen washcloth. I like the idea of her having a dry part to hold onto, I will give it a shot! Thankyou all so much for the ideas
She woke up from her nap after about an hour just SCREAMING, so I held her and bounced her and she fell asleep. She slept another 2 hours with me holding her, poor little precious thing. I got caught up on my soaps and got to cuddle her, the best of both worlds! lol BUT then she woke up a not so happy baby again, so I gave her to daddy and she is just fine now
lol oh well! Whatever works, we're on our way to cvs to get the teething tablets!

I just know that she needs to be able to hold on to it, and i also know that I spent so much money on pills, the gel and it just NEVER worked for ri0 -
I'm sorry to hear bout Taylor. Jerimyah used the teething tablets and my finger. He really didn't have to bad of a problem. I'll keep her in my prayers. Sweet pumpkin! :flowerforyou:0

Hey, I just wanted to let everyone know that the teething tablets definately seemed to help. That paired with a frozen teething ring and a whole lot of cuddling...guess what she's having for breakfast tomorrow? A frozen waffle! lol Thanks again everyone..she's asleep now, totally worn out, she didn't even wake when I changed her diaper, all she did was wiggle a little bit and stretch0
-
Aww poor kitten.
My dd got her teeth in groups of 6 or 8 at at time. It was horrible. She swallowed most of her drool and got decidedly soft stools.:noway:
I think we used the numbing gels and lots of walks around the block.
Hope your princess feels better soon so mommy can have a rest.0 -
Orajel, tylenol and frozen bagels.
keep your fingers crossed!0 -
I hope she feels better La La!:ohwell:
What's going on with the MFP kiddos?:ohwell:0
