i have noticed some users do not put drinks in food diary i count mine should i be counting them feels like cheating if i dont

  • i add mine if i drink beverages that have calories in them: sodas, beer, alcohol, milk, juice etc. However, since I usually only drink water or unsweetened iced tea, i usually don't add it into my daily calorie intake.

    I feel the same way! I mainly drink water, but when I drink something with calories in it, I add it to my food diary.

    Yes, absolutely count them.....they have calories, fat, sugars, protein, calcium, vitamins, etc. Even notating the water is huge because it keeps you on track with the 8 cups/day.

    Great example is pop (soda!)....you can lose weight just by cutting that out of your diet and not change anything else you are doing. I would say that drinks need to be counted.

    I agree...add them! Calories are calories..no matter where you get them from.
  • Yes note them in your journal - Drinks, a lot of them are empty calories, that add up. As someone just mentioned, some of them are full of sugar, sodium etc.

    I list my coffee (even though I drink it black and it's only 5 cals) and all other liquids I drink, because they can add up quickly.
  • You should definitely count them. Sometimes a drink alone is what throws you off on your calories, or at least for me it does. I include everything I drink, even water because it allows me to see how much I've actually drank throughout the day.
  • I include all my drinks too, including water. Some days can be so busy that I don't drink as much water during the day. Usually those days I also feel hungrier too. Seeing that I didn't drink much water encourages me to have a glass or two before eating dinner and takes the edge of the "hungry" feeling.

    If I drink something other than water, I count it.

    yes add your drinks...you want to be as accurate as possible right? Lots of hidden calories in fluids...remember BETTER TO EAT THE FRUIT THAN DRINK THE JUICE.get more fiber.....lots of suagr in OJ etc...dilute w/ water...i use a splash of real- not- from- concentrate organic cranberry juice to Pellegrino water w/ lemon as a nice drink! FLUSHES the fat; cleans the kidneys/ liver out nicely too. Read the FAT FLUSH diet for more tips.
  • I only add drinks that have calories, orange juice, apple juice, v8. I do not list Ice tea, I have stopped sodas, if I have one a wk that is very unusual. I have such a hard time getting in my waterso I drink water with meals.
