Hello again MFP

Hi everyone. About 4 years ago I used MFP to successfully lose almost 100lbs of weight - with a lot of encouragement from everyone on here. My BMI went from the high 30's into the low 20's - which was awesome! I made the mistake of deleting my account and not logging anymore on MFP as I thought I would keep the weight off.

Unfortunately some of that weight has started to creep back on in the last 9 months so I'm back for another round! Luckily the goal isn't so extreme this time around - about 30lbs lost will see me back to where I want to be, and I think this time I will force myself to continue using MFP to make sure the weight stays off. I think its just too easy to reach your goal, get complacent and then before you know it you are overweight again :-(

My name is Greg and my weight loss journey began two years ago. I was at my heaviest (332) and things were not good. I couldn't keep up with my kids, I was tired all the time, and my doctor told me that my cholesterol was on the rise! I decided something needed to change. I started walking, and eventually doing some weight training. I am down over 105 pounds! I feel so much better, and I love supporting and encouraging people to do the same. I would be happy to be an accountability partner with you. I still have some weight to lose, so we can work at it together! Getting your nutrition under control is a big key to losing weight. I can share what has worked for me if you are interested. If you work hard, I know you can reach your goal! So what do ya say? Are you in?

    Hey there, welcome back.

Congrats to you both, how inspiring, and good to know that you can do it, seeing as you have done it before ADJ!
    Question for you though
How long did you "maintain" on MFP before quitting?
I've not lost as much weight, but total about 30 pounds between my visits... currently I have 27 pounds to lose(10lb down!) I'm planning to log for 2 years min this round as clearly the little voice that tells me that I don't need to log is a lying *$&*^ :) Add if you'd like, I'll be around for quite some time

Greg - that sounds good - The only reason the weight started coming back this year on is that I stopped running. I was doing half marathons and 35+ miles a week running, but got injured which meant I couldn't run for some time, and also a bit depressed with life issues (relationship breakup) so started eating too much and not exercising enough...... It is so gradual the weight gain that you don't really notice it at first but then suddenly clothes are too tight and it suddenly it becomes an issue again...

Hi Josie - In truth I didn't 'maintain' at all after I hit my goal. At the time I was running so much that I could basicly eat whatever I wanted and didn't gain any weight - and that lasted for about three years. When I got injured (knee injury) I should have come back on MFP to 'maintain' to prevent the weight gain while I recovered.

Thanks both - I'd be happy to have you both as friends on here :-)
