Looking at bang for your buck? I don't need tons of protein, but enough that I am having a hard time meeting it dietarily without eating a ton of meat/fish/fowl/dairy.
So, recommendations, please. And what's the best way to eat it? I've only recently started eating yogurt, so maybe smoothies?

I love the Six Star berry smoothie. I've been doing protein powders since my teens and for me, this is the best. It has a lot of protein, fiber, vitamins and actually tastes good. It's vegan based (which for me means nothing but does for others). It blends well with yogurt or water, and it's very low in carbs. Good luck!0

If you have a Costco nearby or you can order online( bc they're the only place that carry it for the deal) you can get Optimum Nutrition brand Isolate, link below for $99-it's a two 5 lb pack, 30 grams, 110 cals, I think and few carbs. I'm all about bang for the buck and I've gotten ON's protein before from Amazon and liked it, but this will be my next purchase.

Oh, and I mix it in with my oats or just mix with milk, water, or some OJ in a shaker, sometimes a smoothie if I have time.0

Another idea, although it's kind of spendy is Trutein makes a pudding. I think it has 170 cals, 28 G protein, and 13 carbs for two scoops, kind of high. I got it on Amazon. The chocolates pretty good, and I'm really bad tho because I put some cool whip on top to make it feel like I'm really eating a dessert.0

I bought bodyfortress vanilla whey isolate from Walmart and i mix it with plain greek yogurt for when I want a protein filled snack. (I don't like to drink protein shakes. I prefer to eat calories not drink them.)0

I really like Gnarly Nutrition's Whey protein, comes in two flavors, chocolate and vanilla. They are the only ones I have found that don't upset my stomach or give me a headache. As a bonus, they are "clean" whey so no GMO's and it comes from grass fed cows which is important to me but perhaps not to you.0

I've been having an EAS Lean 15 Chocolate Protein shake every morning with a teaspoon of Folgers Instant Coffee and 2 servings of Almond Breeze Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk and ice. It's wonderful. Give it a try!
Here it is at Target:

I LOVE Trutein by Body Nutrition. High quality, no fillers, and some really great flavors. I mix with water. Their protein Magic Puddings are especially awesome. They are usually cheapest at bodybuilding.com.0

I don't know about this one. :ohwell: I've tried EAS vanilla, and it was so horrible I couldn't even finish it. Gagging after two swallows, it tasted like baby formula. Hurl. It may be fine if you mix stuff into it, but for me that sort of defeats the purpose, as there are plenty of protein shakes out there that taste great on their own, without having to add stuff to it to make it palatable. Though to each their own, I suppose.0 -
I don't mix the coffee in for flavor - I mix it for the caffeine. Coffee has zero to no calories with no add-ins ... it is a great substitute for a protein shake AND coffee in the morning with add-ins. I never buy vanilla shakes because I personally don't like the "chalky" taste in vanilla shakes. Personal preference, that's all. Don't hate it until you try it.0

My favorite is Combat Powder by MusclePharm (Cookies n Cream). Not too expensive and quality ingredients.0

Unjury Chocolate Splendor or Classic Chocolate, hands down for me. I mix it with almond milk and PB2 peanut butter powder every morning.
The only drawback is that it is online only.0 -

I have the EAS Lean 15 Vanilla Cream stuff, and I don't really like the taste, but it's ok in a banana peanut butter smoothie that I make. I want to try something better (and with less sugar!) but I've still got more than half the bottle left and I hate to waste.
One I've tried that I really like is Labrada Lean Body chocolate ice cream flavor - my mom gave me a few packs last time she visited, I'm gonna do some research on prices and see what I can find bc now that I remember the stuff, I want it!0 -
I like bluebonnet dual action protein powder French vanilla. You can mix it with anything sweetened with Stevia. I get it at amazon.0

I switched from Muscle Milk (too much fat and calories) to Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Whey. All the flavors I've tried taste great (better with milk than water). 1 scoop (not including milk) give you -

I use regular EAS in chocolate and vanilla but I mix it with other ingredients like almond milk, frozen fruit, PB2, coconut, etc. It's fairly inexpensive. Get it in large quantities at those wholesale club stores.0

Thanks everyone! Did some label reading today, went for the highest protein/lowest sugar greek yogurts I could find (I mix 50/50 plain and vanilla, with fruit) and will definitely see what of these I can find at Sam's Club!
Thanks!0 -
