Need some guidance. Fad chaser wanting to change paths...

I am brand new to the site. I have tried to use it before but gave up. At this point tho I really need to find something and stick to it or I am going to go down a bad path again. I have tried so many things and get caught up in the magic of each new fad even tho in the back of my head I know that main isn't real. I have struggled internally with my weight my whole life even tho I have never been told I am over weight. I worked in the restaurant industry for years and got caught up in the lifestyle of having to keep up an appearance. I was on diet pills for 3 years that worked wonderfully and were on the news about how horrible they were for you. They contained extasy and heart worm medication apparently but I didn't care as I lost 25lbs without having to lift a finger. At the end of the three years I was having heart issues and throwing up constantly from them and decided it was time to put them down. After that the weight crept back. As I regained each pound the health issues I had experienced became more and more forgotten and I only seem to remember the wonderful feeling of feeling skinny. I have never been one to love the gym and especially hate cardio. I had success with herbal magic but it is crazy expensive. I recently joined weight watchers online but I find that they allow you too many unhealthy options with point values that seem way too low for what you are eating. I am trying to find a work out program that I can do at home for now and a way to track my eating that makes sense. Thus why I am here. I really would love to once and for all change my ways and be able to become fit the right way. Even before joining today I spend 3 hours researching "natural weight loss supplements" even tho I don't believe they exist. I don't want to go down the road again but I need something that works and I am tired of trying new things. After reading some of the boards here I am hoping that other people's knowledge and success stories will be the motivation I am looking for. There is so much information to lose weight out there and so many people pulling in so many different directions that I have no idea what to believe. Anything at this point would help. I am a picky eater but getting better and looking for at home work out plans. Success stories or tips or anything. I am hoping for the same success with this platform that I have seen so far on the message boards.

    THIS!!!! All the fads are an unconscious way of putting off what deep, down, you know is the right answer.

    Look, I spent years abusing substances. Deep, down I knew they were a huge problem and that I was just putting off what I knew was the answer; that I can't use any subsances, no matter what.

    Your issue is basically the same thing, only without the drugs (well, sort of). You know what the answer is but it's hard to let go of the old habits. Being healthy and fit takes work, and popping pills requires only saliva and money.

    You made a GREAT LEAP by joining this forum. If you use the tool that is MFP, and you don't get caught up in the biting and arguing that happens in the forums, you will learn a lot.
