Omg! I Really blew it today! The day started off great but the afternoon was a complete disaster! I went to my dads and had like 6 sugar cookies! Than I went to a birthday party where I proceeded to have cocktail wieners, meatballs, carrots, devil eggs and a Soda! I manage to say no to cake but than had a handful of peanuts and some mint candies! OH MY I SO blew it today.. I don't even know how to begin to add up those dinner and snack calories... I am so Mad at me! I have been working so hard and trying.... I don't want to get discourage as I had this summer when I went to a gym for 3 months faithfully 6 days and week and did not lose ONE pd... after working with a trainer we figured out I wasn't getting enough calories.. but than I had to quit because of finances... Now I have been doing this with MFP and after one week I lost a LB! I was so happy even though it was Just a Lb.. Now I go and blow it for today and to top it off I didn't do my 8 glasses of water! I think I have had one... the one I am NOW drinking... I didn't exercise today either and its almost bed time! I'n afraid if I don't lose another pound Tuesday on my weigh in, I'd give up again.. I can't do that.. I have to lose this fat! I just want to be back to the me I was Before I quit smoking 2 years ago! Damn this Sh@T is hard to do!

Don't beat yourself up. A slip up once in a while is normal. Just start again tomorrow Good luck0

I had one of those days this week. Don't stress about it.
It's just one day of your life and you can pick up tomorrow and do better.
Get up tomorrow and try to exercise and stick to the calories you should.
It is hard. It takes practice and you will not always be perfect and even if you do well each and every day of the week, you still may not show results some weeks on the scale. It is a journey of learning and making mistakes too and learning from the mistakes.
Learning about making better choices. You won't always do that. You can do this. Don't give up so soon. Keep going through all the ups and downs. Isn't that just what life is all about? Not every day will be great - work on having most of them!!
We're all in the same boat and are here for you!
Tomorrow is a new day! Get some sleep and wake up ready to begin afresh!0 -
We all have those days. I'd document as well as you can. Put a note about the party in the space at the bottom of the food diary and then forget about it. Get up tomorrow and make a fresh start! Maybe lay out your workout clothes or walking shoes before you go to bed so you are reminded that you plan to exercise. Start thinking of what you can do at family gatherings and parties to avoid the same problem in the future. Can you chew gum so you won't eat? Bring a dish to pass that's healthy? You can do this! Don't throw away your goals for "a bad day" we all have them but few choose to post them. Start again tomorrow and when that urge to splurge hits you again remember how you felt at the end of the day and choose not to put your self there again,we all have those days so please don't give up..0

It's okay...we have ALL had that day! This week I blew it by having McDonald's for lunch...you just have to bush yourself off. Tomorrow is a new day0

I know that does suck when that happens! I'll be honest you already know what went wrong...I'd skip entering today's food and start fresh tomorrow... at least that's what I do0

You are being too hard on yourself! Forgive yourself & move on. Tomorrow is a new day! Perhaps you can exercise and feel a little better?

Don't be so hard on yourself.... you're not on this journey to punish yourself, you need treats too, once in a while!
I had outta control days exactly like that and then I started giving myself a 'treat day' once a week. It helped me keep on track and I wouldn't fall off the wagon so badly. The trick is to pick the 'treat' wisely, just one of my meals would be the treat and the rest of the day would be my normal diet plan.
Now the rest of the week I'll eat whatever I want just way smaller portions than I used to. And that's exactly what this site has helped me with, portion control.... it actually gets easier if I don't feel like I'm denying myself of the foods I love!
You're on the right track! Keep going!

There there now. Calm down sweetie. It's all going to be ok! Based on what you just said you probably had about 800 calories while at your father's house which, based on your diary, puts you over by only about 100 calories. It's going to be fine so just settle down, take a few deep breaths, drink a tall glass of ice cold water [ice cold water makes your body burn more calories] and just chill. Tomorrow will be better, and you didn't blow it today despite your current emotions about it.
Weight loss is a very difficult process. There is a delicate balance of consumption that must be constantly monitored and adjusted throughout the process. You quit smoking 2 years ago! That's something. I mean, that is really something to be proud of. It's almost as hard to lose weight as it is to quit smoking. Chances are good that you are as addicted to food as you were to cigarettes. Breaking the food addiction is tough, but you can do it. You have to keep telling yourself that you can do it, or you won't, and then you'll be back at the beginning, a little older and worse for the wear

u have to keep plugging along it may help to try to add in the calories so you can be accountable and really know how much you consumed ...also learn to reflect on times like these in the future to steer away from making bad decisions....avoiding it wont help when you chose to log food you chose to log food good or bad not just the good days *im assuming*..part of fixing the problem we have is being accountable for it...good luck0

To be honest 1200 calories seem like starving calories. Maybe you should be going for at least 1500?0

Yeah someone took my Pic tonight and I had my cheeks full of air, goofing around with a little girl and they snapped a picture. I was upset I looked 100 pds heavier and she wouldn't delete the photo.. grrrr... Another NOT highlight of my day! :sad:0 -
When I read this, all I could think was how determined you are. You had a setback; and instead of throwing up your hands and giving up, you admitted it was a bad day and turned to others for support. You know what I think? I think ---no, I BELIEVE-- you WILL make it this time, because you are obviously determined!!!

Oh gosh, please do not beat yourself up over this. I do that all the time myself, but i tell myself that it's okay because it's only once in a while not everyday, and every day is a new day...tomorrow you can start new and make it a good day. But please don't worry over just one day...believe me, we all do it. Actually, i heard that a little surge in calories once in a while is actually good for you because it trains your body to handle the calories you intake...then your body won't need to grab on to every calorie you consume like it would if you eat too little. That's why MFP doesn't recommend you eating less than 1200 calories...you can actually gain weight that way, contrary to what most people think. So, tomorrow's a new day...stick to your goal and you will be on your way to losing the weight you've been wanting to lose. Believe me...it CAN be done.0

This is my fourth day, and it was a hard one at that. I can relate to how you feel, however, tomorrow is a new start!!!0
