i've actually been around for years now. i started using mfp back in 2011 and made great friends who motivated me to lose over 55 pounds. i was going strong and felt like it was impossible to ever go back to my old lifestyle. at the beginning of last year i went through a bad breakup with my now ex-fiance. i was depressed and fed my emotions. i've always been an emotional eater and learned to work around it until the break-up which had me upset for months straight. since then i've been back to my old lifestyle of eating junk just about every day and have gained about 20+ pounds. i spend a lot of time with my new boyfriend and his family and don't always have control over the meals when i'm over there for dinner. idk that's a basic re-cap of my journey thus far.
basically now that i'm trying to get back to where i used to be, i just want some new friends on my news feed so i can read about other peoples' daily struggles and triumphs and that might help motivate me a bit more, since most of my old friends are inactive now. i'm not an active commenter so don't expect "great job" on your daily log or anything but i just want some people i can really interact with sometimes. i've made some great friends on this website and i'm hoping to make more.

Hi! Charlotte here...this is my 3rd attempt. Wasn't at the right point of motivation before. I am the heaviest I have ever been, and I have to lose the weight...before I have health issues, which I don't want. Today after I logged in my food diary, I received the message that I was not eating enough. I am doing this for me, so it will take me a little bit to know how much I can eat and stay at, or right below the number of calories recommended. I can understand emotional eating....I used to do it all the time. I would have a bad week at work and found myself eating some things I thought would make me feel better, but of course it was short-loved. I had surgery in Dec. and I am slowly getting back into some light exercise. It will take me a while to get my stamina back, but I will. I have to remember to tell myself every day that "food is fuel".
You have succeeded once and you can do it again - stay determined. You can do it.
