It doesn't matter how slow you go, as long as you don't stop.
  • Practice good form.

Keep logging and keep exercising. The good days will help get you through the bad ones.

    Agree with consistency

My two cents would be... HONESTY.
Log honestly even if it means adding in all the crap.
    Its the only way.
You aren't lying to anyone but yourself.

Don't eliminate foods you truly enjoy, just make them fit into your day, if it's junk food, maybe try and limit it and use it as a special occasion.

You didn't gain the weight over night and you will not lose it over night... It takes time and will power. Even if you have a bad day ...don't give up!

You might get a bit grumpy the 2nd day, due to persistence, but it all goes away... Then You start feeling more energetic and ready to battle the bulge.

Set small, realistic, attainable goals. If you are miserable, you will fail.
    Educate yourself.
    Plan, plan, plan.

    Weigh and measure everything!!

It's all about the numbers, you can theoretically eat anything as long as you stay under your calories. Ex: you can eat a whole pizza for lunch, but if you max your calories...no more food for that day!

Trust the process. Follow MFP's guidelines for a 1 pound loss per week or calculate your TDEE and subtract 15-20%

The calories burned that they give you is not very accurate. I would suggest you only eat back 1/2 of your burned calories. Oh, and have some compassion for yourself, always. People are never perfect, but we can strive to be better today than yesterday!

Get a food scale. And use it regularly. Best $20 I ever spent.

Someone I know says this on my TV.

If you have a bad meal or a bad day, let it go. Don't fret over it just move on and try to make them the exception rather than the rule...

Research.....do buy into everyone's BS on here.
  • There will be a lot of days where you get off track, or think "maybe this isn't worth it," or days where some junk food is going to do a whole lot more for you emotionally than a short jog (hop off, you all know it's true). But ultimately, everything is up to you. Whether you make excuses or work your *kitten* off (literally), this whole journey moves forward, stalls, or stops all because of you. It's going to be hard, but it's going to be worth it.
