Cravings!!

While I've been doing really well at watching what I eat, and attempting to change my eating habits, the biggest problem I seem to encounter is carb cravings. I just constantly want bread of all sorts, and I really crave cheeseburgers and fries.
I just curious if other experience this, and what options there are to fulfill these cravings in a healthier way?

Log what you are going to eat beforehand so that you have a mental note of where you MUST stop.
If you don’t satisfy your cravings you'll end up binge eating and that will do more harm.
Not eating foods you like will only make the process more painful and harder.0 -
I never had a sweet tooth or really cared for breads until I lost the weight... Now I crave and eat the stuff all the time. The "healthier" way to eat this this stuff is really just to practice moderation and make it fit into your day. I've found that a turkey burger does just the same for me as a regular burger and is way eaiser on the calories and much higher in protein. I eat the thing sliced or lower fat cheeses and I also aim for lower calorie breads unless I decide to make the room for something fancier. Usually though, a piece of 40 calorie toast is enough to satisfy my craving.
Now fries are a different story... I haven't found a good workaround for those, but I don't typically want them. When I do, I just make the room.0 -
If you want a burger, log it and eat one. Just make sure you still hit your calorie goal.0

Thanks everyone! I really appreciate the suggestions!
I really like the suggestion of Turkey Burgers! I'll have to try that!0 -
I find when I get a sweet craving I make myself some fruity tea to curb that
when I'm craving bread/burger/fries/donut anything with empty refined carbs I tend to eat some almonds or cashews with some dried apricots or prunes...that or a banana0 -
not sure if you will have it in the US but try a supplement called Chromium. It's nothing scary it just regulates your glucose in the body and stops cravings. there was nothing I ate that could stop me craving fizzy drinks and chocolate and since I've been taking one a day of Chromium the cravings have completly gone and I never even think about it. May not work with everyone but worth a try.0

When I'm craving a burger, I have one, but not a beef one. A low calorie black bean burger, they are soooo delicious! I just eat them as a lettuce wrap with other vegetables inside. As for fries, well its just will-power. Maybe for a treat every now and then, but I'd only eat a small amount too. I always make sure to exercise so I stay within my goal as well.0

I am constantly snacking throughout the day, so I don't get hungry.
I snack on celery sticks, carrot sticks, and teaspoons of peanut butter. I don't eat peanut butter as much as I eat celery and carrots because of the calorie intake, but I also will eat a banana a day.
Sometimes, one day a week or once every 2 weeks, I will have a bag of gummi bears (3 servings) with no sodium or low, no transfat, and etc... Cause gummi bears and chips with salsa are two foods that I crave!
But sometimes if I know I can't be bad and I want chips and salsa... I will do salsa with carrots.0 -
