30 Day Shred... Shin Splints??

Okay I know it's been asked but here we go again. I started the 30 day shred last Monday. I did it all week and rested on Sunday. I have been having terrible shin splints from it though. I've done it 3 other times and never had this problem. I always work out barefoot on the carpet at home. I am trying to push through it but it's so painful that afterward I'm literally tip toeing through the house in pain. I am also experiencing pain while just walking around the next day. I wear heels to work so I'm sure that doesn't help. I've tried stretches afterward and those seem to hurt more than help. Hubby says ice might help but I haven't tried it yet. I just need to know how to make it bareable while working out. I haven't quit working out but it sure does hurt enough to make me rethink it.
Any ideas???

The thing about shin splints is that it could be from multiple different reasons.
Irritated and swollen muscles, often from overuse
Stress fractures, which are tiny breaks in the lower leg bones
Overpronation or ''flat feet" -- when the impact of a step makes your foot's arch collapse
If it is the second one you should let your feet rest and let them heal up, because you can back them worse.
If you have pain and swelling its best to ice the area and take anti-inflammatory meds.
If its the third reason the best thing to do would be to get shoes made for your feet.
Though most of the time when getting shin splints and can be healthier for your ankles is to let them rest for awhile, otherwise I would say check out with a doctor, because if it is bone fractures its possible they can get alot worse if not looked after correctly.0
