Should I feel the burn?

So, when I go do a lifting session at the gym I work my hardest. I do sets of 6-12 reps of a weight then I increase until I can't even do the 6. I never feel a burn though. The next day, I'm not sore at all. Ever.
Could it be because I've been doing Pilates / endurance training for so long (about a year now) that my muscles can easily endure the pressure? Anyone else like this? Is it a form issue or maybe the fact that I'm using machines? Is it ok that I'm not sore or does it mean I'm not working hard enough for growth.

Being sore or not is no indication of the quality of the work out. I only "feel the burn" when doing high rep, not strength, so no, it is also meaningless.
