I'm back... For good this time!

So after many half hearted attempts at weight loss and MFP tracking sporadically over the last few years, I feel like I'm finally ready to get serious about losing weight. For so long I avoided truly looking in the mirror any more but I can't escape the truth for any longer- I have gotten FAT. I weighed myself this morning for the first time in almost a year and I never even imagined myself getting this heavy. Last time I was on MFP trying to lose a bit of weight I was 150lb and now I'm another 20lb heavier. This has to stop. No more excuses, no more half-arsed effects. I am going to be the best version of myself!

Having used the website before I know just how helpful it is having support from people going through the same thing so I'd love to make some friends again, to help each other through this. It's not going to be easy, but it is going to be worth it.

For anyone interested-
My name is Ellie. I'm 20 years old and a university student in the north of England. I love cooking, and have a minor shopping addiction. I also work at the weekends in a 'posh' supermarket- spending my days staring at all the nice food! Please say hi, the weight loss journey can be lonely! :)

Hey! I'm also a student from up North, nice to see another one around :)

I've been consistently using MFP for about 4/5 weeks now (after having logged on and off for a year) and I'm already feeling/seeing good results. Motivation is the hardest thing for me, I just love food and cider so much haha. Annoying isn't it?! I find getting into a routine and not expecting too much too quickly helps to keep my motivation on track.

I've been doing a combination of:
    - 5:2 Intermittent Fasting (as well as other possible health benefits, this suits me far better than calorie counting the same amount each day, but that's just personal to me)
    - cardio + resistance workouts a few days a week (I find the 30 Day Shred videos short enough to be convenient but still have an impact)
    - having moved back home for summer, and being lucky enough to live in a beautiful countryside, I've been making the most of the sunshine and going out for a good walk once or twice a week.

Hopefully this and my 2 summer jobs will help towards my goal! I've lost about 6 pounds in the time I've been doing this, going from 158 to 152lbs. Ideally I want to reach 136, but 146 is my intermediate goal.

    Where are you aiming for?

    Best of luck :)

    Hello

Its good that your back on MFP and continuing to fight and never quit to lose weight, its hard believe me! Your not the only person who has tried to lose weight and have gone back and forth doing it. I have been trying to lose weight for over 3 years now and my first 2 years was a constant roller coaster, but finally late last fall I got very serious and have lost over 35lbs and am now about 25lbs to my goal weight. I love this site because of the support you can get from other people with the same goals and desires as you want, we all can share workouts, recipes etc... it helps a great deal! So feel free to add me, I'm on pretty much everyday and give support to all my MFP friends!

    Thanks
    Mike
