My current faves are Jefferson Reserve Bourbon and The Dalmore 12yr old Scotch. Anybody else?

I'm a Maker's Mark girl. Mmmm! Although I do love a glass of good Scotch when I'm out. I just ask the bartender for a recommendation because I don't know Scotch.

I'm relatively new to Scotch; enjoy the highlands and beginning to appreciate some of the peatier styles. Still can't do the full-blown peat, which tastes like seaweed at low tide to me.

The macallan 12 and the ardbeg uigeadail are two of my favorite single malt scotches. And the woodford reserve is probably one of my favorite bourbons

I like bourbon. When I occasionally drink it, Pappy Van Winkle is a favorite. I'm not a big scotch fan, but my husband is, so I bought him a bottle of The Glenlivet 21Year Old Archive for his birthday. It's wonderful. I guess my whisky has to be old enough to drink whisky before I enjoy it.

^That right there is the best whisky in the world.

    Also, Highland Park.

Bourbon is Woodford Reserve or Bulleit Rye.

I am not a big bourbon fan but I had some last year at a Christmas party that was exceptional. Wish I knew which label it was. It had nut-buttery undertones (what my palette interpreted them as anyway).

Glenlivet, preferably 21, but even 12 will do. However, sometimes I just buy Clan MacGregor. Yes, it's cheap. Yes, I am ashamed (well, not really).

Lagavula reminds me of Ron Swanson, which isn't a bad thing.

get some whiskey stones, those things are great. don't water down your drink, and doesn't make it too cold.

Maker's Mark. I'm always disappointed when I try something else. I haven't gotten into scotch. Any beginner suggestions?

Don't go beginner. If you're going Scotch get The Glenlivet, Lagavula or Scapa.
