Logging Exercise 30 Day Shred Level 1

I'm new to My Fitness Pal. Does anyone have a good way to log exercise for the 30 Day Shred Level 1? If you've done this and are willing to share how you logged it I would be grateful.

Also I didn't see planking at all in the list of exercises. I was surprised because I thought that was kind of popular now.

When I did the 30 Day Shred, I logged it as Circuit Training, general. I also changed the calories to reflect what my HRM said, because it can be overestimated by MFP. Hope that helps!

    Thanks! What is HMR?
  • HMR = Heart Rate Monitor
I have a Polar brand, kind a cool watch with a chest strap that measures your heart rate. Strap on before you go to the gym, or exercise and see how many calories you really burn. What I found was most interesting is the after burn coming back from the gym. I work out with a personal trainer 3x per week, and since I am all revved up I burn almost 100 calories on the ride back home in the car.

I'll be starting the 30 Day Shred soon, and plan to wear my Polar Fit HRM the first few sessions to get my calorie burn because the MFP burns are too general and often reflect overinflated burns for activities.

I use to log it manually or via Map My Run. Calories burned was taken from a HRM. For all 3 levels I consistently burnt between 160 - 170 calories. There is a formula you can use but that worked out to be a bit too inflated for me (210 calories)

Thanks all! This is my first post and you were very helpful! I am still wondering a bit about planking. I don't think it burns many calories and should probably go under strength training but I don't see it in either location. Is there a way to request to get it added?
