Hello everyone

Hello, I'm not new to MFP, but I'm new to the forums and would like to introduce myself.

My name is Chris, I am a 24 year old guy from England.

I spent my late teen years overweight and bloated, I believe I was 13 stone at one point. In 2009 I started to cycle to and from college most days (6 miles in total) plus an additional mile or so to and from work, and within months (I wasn't really paying attention at that time) I got a lot leaner. I must have between 10 and 11 stone at that time. This lasted until 2011 when I graduated the course and stopped cycling so much.

I've was floating around 165lbs in 2011-2013 until I moved in with my girlfriend, and instead of cycling to work I had to commute via motorcycle (I do not live in cycling distance anymore) and since then I've been averaging on 179-180 lbs. This is the heaviest I've been in 5 years and I've now woken up to it. I need to change and I plan to lose at least 20lbs within the next few months.

I am 5'9 and 180 lbs, which puts my BMI as 25.99 which puts me in the overweight category. My ideal weight is 135 - 169 lbs.

Today messing around with the app, I put in what I'd typically eat in a day, a whole 1000 + calories more than I should be eating, and it estimated I'd still be 179 lbs in 5 weeks, therefore what eat now must be maintaining that weight. So in theory if I cut that 1000 calories of junk a day, I'd lose weight steadily.

My main problem is I currently work at McDonalds, and I get a free meal every shift (5 days a week) so thats manly where that extra 1000 calories are coming from as I don't snack TOO much when at home. I need to bring alternative meals to work with me instead of eating that...stuff.

Here are some pics from over the years.

Hey! Welcome to the forums! If you need a friend you can add me! I'm on everyday and try to stay positive and helpful!

I'm 24 from American and Female. You can read my profile if you want to know more about me, but I have been overweight all of my life and had the initial goal of 80 lb to lose. Now I am down to 64lb left to lose. When I first started I realized I was eating 3000 calories a day! That's a large amount more than I needed. I also wasn't actively exercising (besides some sports.. don't know how I managed that one) or anything. Now it makes me think what I thought was going to happen to my body!

Since you told so much about yourself guess I will continue to too! I am in the obese range because I am short (5'2). I went on a trip overseas and lost 50 lb (dropping to 150), but gained it all back... putting me at my highest of 210. Now I am 190 and currently continuing to drop!

Oh, yeah working for fast food and eating healthy is a big challenge. Takes some strength! Good luck to you on your journey! Hope you are successful!

    Hi,

Add me if you like, I log every day. I've been discovering that I don't lose weight on 1600 cal a day so much for optimism lol. I'm dropping to 1400.

Yesterday was my first day sticking to the 1500 calorie a day limit. At first I thought it was going to be hard, but I was just as full when I had my limited food than I would be if I had a McDonalds meal for my break at work. So that's a good sign for me.
