Change Negative thoughts to Positive actions

Examples of negative statements and self-defeating questions “STOP THESE NOW “
Why can’t I lose these last ten pounds
Why is it so hard for me to lose weight
I have a slow metabolism
I’ll always be fat
It’s not my fault I’m fat because I don’t have good genetics
I don’t want to be fat anymore
I wish I could get rid of this gut
It will never work because I love food too much
I don’t have the will power to get lean
I can’t lose weight no matter what I do
I would work out but I don’t have time
I just can’t get myself up early to work out
I hate being fat
I’m sick of being overweight
I’m tired of working out but getting nowhere
I’m ready to give up
I’ll never see my abs
I hate cardio
I can’t
I’ll try
So take responsibility and replace the above with these and so many other positive self-talk
How can I burn fat and enjoy the process
What can I do today to get me closer to my ideal weight?
What can I eat right now at this meal that will help me burn body fat
How great am I going to feel after I finish my workout today?
My metabolism is getting faster every day
I am getting leaner every day
I like the way I look
I am 100% responsible for my results
I am doing whatever it take
I like eating healthy food
I love working out
Training early in the morning is exhilarating
I have time for anything I’m committed to
I am unstoppable
I like my self
I am the best
I WILL DO IT

What a great reminder of the power of the mind. It became easier & easier to think positive the longer I kept at it, good or bad.0

Totally agree. After a few months working with PT and moaning a lot about things he was asking me to do, I decided to make a change - why was I moaning, I was CHOOSING to be there so I could CHOOSE to enjoy it, or at least make the most of it. I could fill my session time working with him, or I could pay him to hear me moaning, and chit chat, and not work. So I starting working more.
Then I started trying to stop making jokey negative comments about myself - this was hard at first as I have always done this, and I still have to stop myself doing it sometimes, especially when I've just wacked myself with a kettlebell or something, but uncoordinated as I am I having a go, and I am much fitter and stronger than I ever thought I'd be, and sometimes, just sometimes I can even accept that I am doing pretty good.
Thanks for such a positive post.0 -
