Kitchen basics?

We're currently having our kitchen done up and it's been such a struggle and an annoying time. It will be done soon but it will obviously mean that, apart from a few jars, condiments, dried things, tins etc., we're basically starting from rock bottom. I'm trying to look at this in a good way in that it means I can start having a kitchen geared towards eating healthy.

What would you guys recommend as healthy kitchen 'basics'? By that, I mean ingredients that are useful for many healthy recipes, healthy breakfasts, lunches, snacks etc.? There's often ingredients that I see on websites such as SkinnyTaste that I've never stocked before (e.g. quinoa?!)

Thanks!

The above list is pretty good, and it will depend on your preferences, but some cupboard staples for me:

    dried herbs
spices (if you have an asian shop near you you can buy bigger packets, better quality and cheaper for a lot of them)
    rice/pasta/noodles/grains/oats
flour(s) - plain, cornflour, then any others you want
baking powder/bicarbonate of soda (US: baking soda and not sure what baking powder is called?)
    sugar/honey/substitute?
    tins/cans: lentils/beans/sweetcorn/tomatoes
    tinned soups for lazy days
    treats
    oil(s)
    soy sauce/chilli sauce
    condiments - ketchup/mayo/mustard/chilli - whatever you like
    dried fruits - sultanas/raisins etc
    Nuts/seeds
    stock cubes/bullion powder
    salt & pepper

    Freezer:
low(ish) cal pizza(s) for lazy days
    peas and other veg
    ice cream
    pitta and other breads
    frozen fruits

    eggs
    milk
    almond milk
    oatmeal
    assorted fruits
    frozen fruits/veggies
    tuna
    frozen fish
    frozen chicken breasts
    rice
    dried black beans
    flour
    sugar
    salt
    baking soda
    baking powder
    unsweetened cocoa powder
    (we bake a lot)
spices pepper , powdered mustard cumin

    Great lists. I would add:

    Oats - for porridge/flapjacks/granola
Wholegrain breakfast cereal - for when you are in a hurry
Granola - if you don't want to make your own
    0% fat Greek yoghurt
Dried yeast - for homemade pizza/bread
