I want to ideally lose a little more than 30, but I'm in the right weight (157) and ALMOST height (5'3") range :)

So glad you all replied! It always seems like the obstacle isn't such an obstacle when you have motivation and people who want to achieve the same goals

I'm 5'4" and 147. I would like to lose 20-25 pounds. I too struggle with motivation. I've done better with exercise in the last month, but can't seem to get my eating under control!! I would love some motivation and support!! Anyone interested in starting a group with daily/weekly challenges and goals? I tend to do better when I am held accountable.

    This is me!

Ideally, I'd like to lose maximum of 20lb, so I don't think I'm actually asking the world here! Am currently 153lb, I have been under 130 through illness and it wasn't a look that suited me, so would look to staying in the low-mid 130s

Have just restarted running today. That's my problem. I do a lot of restarting things and then can't see them through :-( but am happy to see how the running pans out, I've picked a different programme to follow rather than rehashing the same old, same old!

I tend to "restart" things as well. I've just restarted running and weight lifting. I had my 2nd child a little over 2 years ago and it was taken me this long to try to get myself back on track. Before finding out I was pregnant with him I had lost 25 pounds and looked great. Still had some toning to do, but was ultimately happy. Now I have to find a way to crawl back there!
  • Well, Im 5'5, with a medium build, and about 150 lbs. Besides being pregnant Im at the heaviest Ive ever been. I was very athletic in high school, too skinny in college, normal weight during my baby making years (my son is 2 1/2 and my daughter is 1), and now on the verge of being overweight. Ive been prepping meals consisting of 1/2 cup lean protein, 1 cup veggies, and 1/2 cup healthy carbs. And for breakfast I usually eat eggs or oatmeal with fruit on my workout days, which is 4-5 times a week. I also laid off the wine. I was doing right for the last few weeks, except I realized that having a few glasses Saturday night was adding a few hundred empty calories..... Right now my body fat is around 24-25%, I would like it down to 18-20%. I dont care what the scale says, I just want the fat gone, and to be girly muscular

This is me, but add another 10lbs :-(
I'm the heaviest I have ever been and need to just get a grip. I'm never gonna be skinny, but what to be toned, healthy and fit. I'm not afraid of hard work in the gym, it's my diet I REALLY struggle to clean up. Eating out and takeaways has absolutely ruined me. It's fun at the time... I know what to do, it just a case of doing it, consistently.

I think the best thing we can all do is to tell ourselves that even though we may not be skinny, or look like Jennifer Aniston (her arms OMG), that being healthy, toned and fit is the way to go :)

I would be up for a group. We could take turns with the weekly challenges so it wasn't one person's duty. Run it for 8 weeks, set our goals in advance, and then if we all want to continue - great.

I would be up for the group thing too, if only to have a 'place' to offer motivation and encouragement (and I know I will need some serious butt-kicking to keep me on track!) :-)

Will, I've managed my 2nd run of the week! I feel to stay motivated, I have to log EVERYTHING, including if I weigh myself, how I feel when I've exercised and not forgetting what I eat!

I just finished my 3rd run of the week. I'm with you....in order to stay on track I need to log everything. I know it works, I've done it before, but this time it's so hard!!!

I'm 5'4" and currently at 151 pounds. I want to get to somewhere around 135, just depends on how my body looks when I get there. My weight has ranged anywhere from 140's to 180's in the last couple years, and for the first half of this year I have TRIED to stay focused and lose some weight. I've lost about half of what I wanted to so far, just need help staying motivated!

OOOH me!!! I'm 5'4"/5'4.5" depending on who measures lol. In 2010 I went from 194 to 152 with WW and since then I've been as low as 147 and up to 165. I'm an avid cardio girl but recently had a lower back/hip thing that sat me down for a couple weeks. Its getting better and in the meantime my husband and I have been getting the necessary equipment to start lifting heavy at home. I'm just waiting on the bench and squat rack. I am very excited to take the focus off of cardio and work on retaining some of this muscle while I reach my goal of 135 (or lower of course)! I probably haven't been less a than 145 since the 6th grade?

The other factor is my constant battle with Hashimoto's thyroiditis. This has been an ongoing balancing of meds since 2010 and we pretty much go up on my synthroid a couple times a year and recently added cytomel to the mix. I have been working on my food choices hoping to help eliminate the foods that exacerbate the inflammation/autoimmune response.

My current weight is 157.8 and I'd love to build up more MFP friends with the same goals!

I was supposed to get up early and lift before work, but the rain made my bed too comfortable. I'll have to do it after work today. I will try to get us a group together that is invite only. Anyone have a good name for a group? And if you want to participate, just let me know. We can do weekly weigh ins and challenges and just be there for motivation and support.

I'm late to this party, but I'm 5'4" and my starting weight was 151. I want to get down to 130 (I've been there before and was very happy, but stupid law school made me lose control and gain weight last year). I'm halfway to my goal now. Anyone can feel free to add me!
  • Hey guys! I'm 5'4'' and at abot 147 right now, after having lost around 60 pounds. I thought I would be happy at this weight, but feel like ideally I would like to be at 130 or so. I strength train a few days a week, but I love yoga and running, and losing 20 or so more pounds would make both of these activities easier. I struggle witha. Lot of hip pain after running, and wonder if it would be better if I was at a lighter weight.
I've heard losing the last few are the most challenging, so I would love some friends that's re in the same boat.

I'm 5'4 and sitting around 155 right now. I've lost quite a bit since my youngest was born (6 months), but I started the pregnancy heavy. I had done really well with losing the weight and exercising until about a month ago. I'm not gaining back but I'm stuck and having trouble getting back on track. I would ideally like to be around 130-135. Everyone feel free to add me....I need the motivation more than anything!
