Ok, so I met my new partner 18 months ago, I had lost quite abit of weight before I had met him and was a comfortable size 8. I have a son of age 5 so I was chuffed to be back at my pre baby weight. However I got a bit too comfortable and when I first met him, as you do, eating out takeaways, bottles of wine each night. I am now a size 12! not feeling good about my self at all, so much so my other half took a silly pic of me the other day getting into the shower, I saw it and absolute hit the roof at him ( although not really his fault!). I am 5ft3 and weight (as of two days ago) 11stone 2 I was shocked and appalled in all honesty! I have started walking on my lunch breaks each day now, as my job involves being sat at a desk all day! and also walking the dog in the fields just behind my house each night. I want to stick to a lifestyle change plan more then a diet as such. I really want to lose 2 stone and would like to do this within 6 months.

Any advice tips, or motivational speeches are welcome! also if anyone knows how overweight this is or hopw out of shaoe I am, please od say! it will Push me on!

Hi, I know all too well about gaining weight once you're in a relationship. I managed to pile on a massive 6 stone over 10 years :/ - i'm nowhere near my goal but making progress slowly. Anyway according to BMI calculator your current weight puts you in the overweight category - with an ideal weight of between 7.6 - 10.2 stone so really you don't have a huge amount to lose to get back with in 'normal' range. This thing I was looking at recommends eating between 1641-2110 - I guess dependant on your activity level

hope that helps, good luck with it :)

With a goal of 28 lbs to lose, set your MFP goals to lose 1 lb per week. When you get to the last 10 lbs re-adjust this to lose just 0.5 lbs per week.

It may or may not be possible to achieve this within 6 months. Don't rush to lose quickly though. If it took you 18 months to gain the weight, don't expect to lose it in just 1/3 of that time.

Thank you, just goes to prove its always the mans fault lol! he says he loves the way I look and doesn't want a "Skinny" girl , but its how I feel in myself, when I don't want to go out because I don't feel comfortable in my cloths, that definitely when I realised its only me that can make the change, I just want some support and to chat to people in the same boat!

thank you for you comment and good luck, it is better to lose it slowly and healthily, easier to maintain that way!

    Thank you!

in my head I've been really good for a week so I feel I should of lost a stone already! im very impatient lol

I want to maintain a healthy lifestyle, I know im not ridiculously overweight which makes it harder and slower to lose, just due to me being short I resemble more of a dumpling then a women lol

thank you for the advice though

    I suggest:
    (1) get a fitbit, so you know how many calories in general you're burning throughout your day walking and stuff
    (2) count your intake calories as accurately as you can
    (3) eat at a sensible deficit for your size
    (4) read this http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1175494-a-guide-to-get-you-started-on-your-path-to-sexypants
