Any advice would be amazing!

Hi :)

I have been doing herbalife for the last few months and have really felt the benefit (overall 7lbs loss and 12" loss) however I can't really afford it anymore.

Can anyone please give me some advice on weight loss without suppliement shakes?

I do about 5 miles walking everyday and do Body Pump at least once a week.

Thanks :)

its all about eating less calories than you burn
    calorie deficit=weight loss
    calorie surplus=weight gain

hit your calories and macros with real food - it can be easier in the beginning to enter your food in advance.

you can also buy cheaper/better protein shakes if you find that easier :)

    Second this.

Replace your Herbalife shakes with real food, but stay within your calorie goal to continue losing.

You probably don't realize this yet, but fate has stepped in. Now you can get on with learning to eat food and continue to lose weight. There's something so wonderful about being able to just live and not have to worry about shakes, or being able to afford your plan. To know you can handle parties, cook outs, birthdays - without worrying about not having your special food.

Read the sexy pants thread. Develop your plan - one that works for you - and then keep up the good work. :drinker:

Agree with everyone else. Replace shakes. 3 months ago I was doing juicing (carrots, apples, kale, spinach, beets, etc) with some protein powder. It's a lot of sugar; though natural still sugar. I cut down juicing a lot, but still a good source of vitamins.

Lower Carb intake. Carbs are addictive and leave you craving and hungry more often.

Higher fat diet is best as long as you're moving. The fat serves as fuel and burns faster. Again you have to be moving throughout the day.

Keep calories under the daily suggested per myfitnesspal. However, again....I am always over on my fat and way under on my carbs

Lost 28 pounds in last 80 days which is an average of 2.5 pnds a week which is good. Drink lots of water to decrease stretch marks

Great appetite suppressor is a tablespoon of Trader Joes organic Virgin Coconut oil in your coffee every morning. I have to force myself to eat cause I'm not hungry.

Lastly - get off gluten as much as you can. Read wheat belly (affect on the heart) and Grain Brain (affects on the brain)

Sorry I have to disagree with most of this. Glad it's working for you...however,
You don't need to lower carbs unless you have a medical condition.
    Appetite suppressant is eh.
No need to juice, just eat your fruits and veggies.

Yes, do read the pinned messages linked in previous responses and also go to http://www.hsph.harvard.edu/nutritionsource/ for good science-based information about nutrition and the "Healthy Eating Plate."

Real food is delish! Just don't eat too much of it.

According to your ticker, you want to lost 16 lbs. Set your goal to .5 lb. per week, and learn to log everything you eat & drink accurately & honestly. Logging works.
