Exercise after c section?

I had my daughter almost 5 weeks ago. If you had a c section, when were you cleared for exercise more than walking? Also, when were you cleared for weight lifting? I want to err on the side of caution and don't want to disrupt my incision so I am assuming it will be awhile before I can weight lift but I was just looking for experiences!

I have had two sections. I start walking regularly at 6 weeks then start running at around 7. I don't start lifting until about 6 months after baby. I just don't feel comfortable until then.0

I was cleared with my second son for exercise at 6 weeks. At that point, I was told to do what I was comfortable with. If I did too much - my incision got sore. I know it was quite a while before I tried any ab work. Just ease in to it slowly (you don't want to bust a gut - I had two friends who's incisions opened up and had to be restitched - any they weren't even excerising). And it does depend on what you were doing before and during pregnancy. I went into my second preganacy in MUCH better shape and tried to exercise throughout. Recovery was much easier and I was able to get back into exercising much faster.
And FYI: It takes a full year for your body to return to 100% "normal".0 -
I had a csection about 12 weeks ago. I was cleared for light exercise at 4 weeks but it was still quite painful. I started exercising again regularly at 8 weeks and have just now added weights. I still get twinges if I push too much.
Recovery has not been fun.
