Hey everyone! First time poster, long time lurker.
Let me introduce myself: I'm a 22 year old female, who's currently weighing in at 229lbs (yikes). I'm a dog groomed at PETSMART, so I'm on my feet a lot.
My weight loss plan is both short term and long term.
My best friend is getting married in December, and I don't wanna be the girl who had to settle for an ugly dress because she's fat. I hope to lose about 40-50 pounds between here and now.
My long term plan is that 10 months from now, ill be at my ideal weight of 130lbs, and hopefully join the Navy.
I had a lot of success my junior year of high school when I turned vegetarian and had gym three times a week. I think I lost about 25 pounds. But then again, I just ate a lot of cheese pizza and pasta.
Is there anything you all recommend to start this lifestyle change? Monday will be my first day.
Ive tried to lose weight in the past couple of months, but I just got lazy and food is my comfort.

one step at a time....one step at a time....
Remember that it is a long term goal amd what works for some won't work for others.
Personally, I say keep it simple and work on incorporating small changes in bits at a time so it can become a habit0 -
Well congratulations on your decisions and joining the band wagon again, good luck for you future goals!
For me I found transition to be the best tool when I went from changing my diet from unhealthy to being healthy. As numerous attempts to changing my eating habits in one day failed. I usually eat clean pretty much everyday bar one cheat day a week. Again, it's also a good idea to have a cheat. However, I don't know what your eating habits are so I guess you can incorporate it in someway!
If you're constantly on your feet how about adding some ankle weights? I don't know how you'd prefer to workout so I guess that one will be a trial and error to find out what you prefer!
Possibly break you weigh goals down to smaller goals like 5lbs at a time - that's how I'm coping at the moment as I'm onto my last 18!
Sorry my ideas are limited but I'd probably urge the transition and not all at once!
Again, good luck on your journey!0 -
Eat a balanced, healthy and sustaining diet daily. Follow your numbers: Calories in, calories out. More out than in. If you can handle it, have pizza, just not the whole pie. Have a candy bar, one. Just reach your daily goals. This is actually so simple that it can seem complicated. Pizza slice, 250 calories. Walk for two hours, that pizza is history. But like I said, balanced. You need proper nutrition to burn calories efficiently. That is where people go wrong. They fill their daily calories with junk, the body does not function properly, and they stay the same, or worse, they gain. Read up on nutrition. Eat fruits and veggies, good cereals for breakfast, nuts and berries, dairy, whole wheat. I can eat very nutritious for two meals and go out and have a gyro for dinner. We do not have to suffer eating tree bark and dry salads. Work it in and you can have sweet and sour dressing, or Ranch. It's all in the balance and numbers.0

I would meet with a nutritionist or doctor and let him/her help you set reasonable goals. I've done it on my own, but focused on losing weight vs. changing life. I lost 90, kept it off for 2 years then gained 60 back over 2 years. My focus is now on health and we set goals, and I made 2 simple changes at a time- more water/more veggies, better protein/better snacks, 5 days fitness/focused cross training. I meet my wellness coach once a month to weigh in, discuss progress and measure inches. I have lost 22 since January, but I'm 46 so its going to be slow and I'm ok with that. Good luck with your Health Journey!!0
